105 young Emiratis embark on DIB’s Iktaseb summer training programme

Dubai: As part of the Bank’s contribution to the UAE community, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) announced the launch of its annual Iktaseb summer training programme for young UAE nationals.

105 Emiratis from high schools, colleges and universities across the UAE have embarked on the Iktaseb programme, which offers professional training opportunities to young people aspiring to a career in Islamic banking and finance.

Over the four weeks programme, participants will first be introduced to the principles and workings of Sharia compliant banking, before engaging in practical training in the day-to-day operations of the UAE’s leading Islamic bank. Upon completion of the programme, students will receive program completion certification from DIB and will be given priority in future hiring by the bank.

Obaid Al Shamsi, Chief of Human Resources, DIB, said “Hundreds of young UAE nationals have joined the programme to gain invaluable knowledge about the Sharia compliant financial services sector. The Iktaseb programme is one of many programmes run by DIB with the objective of serving the community as per the Bank’s vision to enhance the skills of young UAE nationals.”
