Deputy Director of MoFAIC’s Dubai Office receives credentials of Consul-General of the Syrian Arab Republic

DUBAI, Rashid Abdulla Al Qaseer, Deputy Director of MoFAIC’s Dubai Office, met with Kenan Zaher Al Deen, Consul-General of the Syrian Arab Republic, in Dubai and received his credentials.

Al Qaseer welcomed the Syrian Consul-General and hailed the political, economic, commercial and investment relations that bind the two friendly countries, wishing him success in his duties.

Dubai Cares Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai invites visitors to discover its humanitarian message

DUBAI, Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, is welcoming visitors from around the world to explore, experience and embrace the message that “The Future is Human”.

Powered by LG Electronics, the two-level Dubai Cares Pavilion located within the Opportunity District, takes visitors of all ages including children, youth and adults on an immersive journey through its various zones.

In addition to highlighting Dubai and the UAE’s journey before, during, and after education, each activity within these zones delivers a message about the importance of various stages of learning for children and culminates with an exciting glimpse into the future of education, skilling and work for youth and adults.

During October, the pavilion welcomed nearly 16,000 visitors from around the world.

Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, Commissioner General for the Dubai Cares Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and CEO of Dubai Cares, said, “The Dubai Cares Pavilion has exceeded all expectations and is proving to be a magnificent showcase of what makes the UAE one of the most generous nations in the world. He added that every activity at the pavilion has been carefully designed to appeal to visitors of all ages in a fun-filled manner while also giving them a sneak peek into what lies ahead in the future.

Every visitor to the pavilion will discover the power of education in shaping Dubai Cares’ future as they engage in a series of enlightening experiences developed in partnership with industry-leading education experts from around the world. “Through it all, they will come to realise that while disruption is here to stay and transform our lives, the future is human and will always be,” Dr. Al Gurg added.

The ground level experience will leave visitors of all ages engaged in fun-based learning. Right from their arrival itself, guests will be treated to an enriching experience in “The Awakening” zone as they go on the UAE’s deeply inspiring journey into education. They will develop a deeper sense of admiration for the huge emphasis the country’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, placed on education as a building block for the nation’s sustainable growth and development throughout history.

In the “Dubai Cares Achievements” zone, visitors will then have the opportunity to learn more about the impact of the Dubai Cares movement and how it represents the people of the UAE who are known for their cultural, intellectual and social diversity, their shared values of respect, care and compassion and their collective commitment to transforming education globally.

Dubai Airshow 2021 welcomes general public to watch daily flying display from Skyview grandstand

DUBAI, Dubai Airshow 2021 will welcome members of the general public, including families and children to witness the daily flying display between 14th and 18th of November from the purpose-built Skyview Grandstand, at Dubai World Central, Al Maktoum International Airport.

Timothy Hawes, Managing Director at Tarsus Middle East said, “We are looking forward to welcoming members of the general public to watch and enjoy the spectacular flying display at the Airshow. The Skyview Grandstand guarantees a perfect view from right beside the runway and for aviation photographers – the perfect picture.”

The flying teams include Al Fursan, the United Arab Emirates Air Force aerobatic display team; Russian Knights by the Russian Air Force; Surya Kiran, the aerobatics demonstration team of the Indian Air Force; and the Saudi Falcons, a BAE Hawk-equipped Royal Saudi Air Force aerobatic team.

Visiting the Skyview Grandstand will be an exciting opportunity to some of the world’s most impressive military fighter jets and large commercial aircraft, reserved usually for people in the aviation industry.

Emirates set to showcase four-class A380 at Dubai Airshow

DUBAI, Emirates will showcase its four-class configured A380 at Dubai Airshow 2021, which will run from 14th to 18th November.

The aircraft on display will feature the airline’s recently introduced Premium Economy Class cabin, in addition to refreshed interiors and enhancements across all cabins onboard its newest A380 aircraft.

Always a popular draw for aviation enthusiasts and trade visitors, Emirates’ latest generation Airbus A380 will be decorated with the unique ‘United Arab Emirates 50’ livery, celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the UAE.

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said, “The Dubai Airshow has long been one of the most important events in the aviation and aerospace calendar. Dubai external trade with Italy grows 69% to AED15.84 billion in H1 2021

DUBAI, Within their efforts to develop cooperation and coordination with the foreign business groups in the country, Dubai Customs participated in a panel organised by the Italian Business Council on the future trends of exports and imports in the GCC.

Rashid Al Muhairi, Head of Customs Procedures Section at the Tariff and Origin Department, Dubai Customs delivered a presentation on the development of Dubai trade with Italy, which grew 81.7 percent in ten years to AED26.68 billion in 2020 from AED14.68 billion in 2010.

In the first half of 2021, trade with Italy grew 68.6 percent to AED15.84 billion from AED9.4 billion in the corresponding period in 2020.

Imports touched AED11.33 billion, exports recorded AED3.65 billion and re-exports totaled AED862 million.

Direct trade amounted to AED12.954 billion, whereas free zone trade totaled AED2.839 billion, and customs warehouse trade stood at AED46.683 million.

Airborne trade accounted for AED9.12 billion. Sea trade reached AED4.99 billion, while land trade weighed in at AED1.72 billion.

The initiatives that Dubai Customs developed in e-commerce were presented in the session. The Government Department has recently launched its Cross Border e-Commerce project.

The innovative platform utilises block chain technology to integrate and automate operations between Customs, Free Zones, logistics, and courier companies. It is the first of its kind in the region, and it aims to help the emirate become a global hub for e-commerce, and encourage e-commerce companies set their businesses in Dubai.

A number of specialists and experts in industry, export, financing exports and logistic services took part in the discussion panel.
