UAE Embassy in London hosts screening of award-winning documentary Amen-Amen-Amen

LONDON, The Embassy of the UAE in London held a screening of the award-winning documentary Amen-Amen-Amen: A Story for Our Times for an audience of cultural, religious, and political leaders from across the UK, UAE, and internationally.

Amen-Amen-Amen, produced by Religion Media Company, tells the story of the gifting of a Torah scroll by the Jewish community of the UAE to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, dedicated to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founding Father of the UAE. The historic gift represents the first time in history a Torah scroll has been dedicated to an Arab ruler.

The screening, held at the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, was followed by a lively panel discussion during which the film’s director and producer, Tom Gallagher, was joined by cultural and diplomatic stakeholders to discuss the film’s significance and the importance of the close ties between the Jewish community in the UAE and the UAE Government.

Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the UK, said, “The UAE champions a tolerant, diverse, and inclusive society. We have long prioritised freedom of religious belief because we recognize that a strong and confident society is one in which people of all faith backgrounds can live in peaceful coexistence. Amen-Amen-Amen serves as a powerful testament to the UAE’s genuine commitment to these values.”

Tom Gallagher, director and producer of Amen-Amen-Amen, said, “It was an honour to be entrusted with this story and with the exclusive footage of the Torah Scroll gift ceremony. Many people in the West are not familiar with the fact that Jews and Muslims are living peacefully in thriving neighbourhoods as the film reflects. Religious pluralism does exist in the Arabian Gulf. We have been edified by the warm reception the film has received by audiences and at film festivals around the globe.”
