Emirates announces A380 flypast with Red Arrows over Dubai golf landmarks and skyline

DUBAI, The Emirates A380 will be performing a flypast with the RAF Red Arrows this Thursday 17 November at midday to celebrate the official kick-off of the DP World Tour Championship. The Emirates A380 and six Red Arrow aircraft will fly in a synchronised formation, starting at Jumeirah Golf Estates, then continuing along the Sheikh Zayed Road skyline and near the iconic Burj Khalifa.

Opportunities for media and the public to spot the aircraft will be approximately between the hours of 12pm and 1pm (local Dubai time) across different vantage points nearby Jumeirah Golf Estates, Sheikh Zayed Road, Downtown Dubai and its surrounding areas.

While Emirates and the RAF Red Arrows encourage the public to take photos and videos of the air display, people are reminded not to put the formation flight at risk by using drones and to comply with all GCAA guidelines pertaining to ‘no fly zones’ for unmanned aircraft/drones.

MoHAP encourages international pharmaceutical companies to transfer their production lines to UAE

DUBAI, The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has stressed that it encourages foreign pharmaceutical companies to move some of their production lines to the UAE and take advantage of the country’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern systems that are tailored to facilitate investments in the pharmaceutical sector, and motivate international companies to strengthen their regional presence and produce innovative medicines in the UAE.

The statement was made during the signing ceremony of an agreement between Globalpharma, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dubai Investments, and GlaxoSmithKline, one of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Regulation Sector, MoHAP; Patrick Moody, British Ambassador to the UAE; Gizem Akalin, GSK’s Vice President and General Manager for the Gulf region; Mohammed Saeed Al Raqbani, General Manager of Dubai Investments Industries (DII) and General Manager of Globalpharma; and Basem Al Barahmeh, the General Manager of Globalpharma.

Dr. Amin Al Amiri stressed that the Ministry will spare no effort to establish a strategy that supports the efficiency of the UAE’s pharmaceutical system by expanding partnerships with factories and international companies. He added that MoHAP looks forward to enhancing the pharmaceutical manufacturing base and encouraging more companies to transfer their manufacturing operations to the country.

“The partnership between the UAE’s GlaxoSmithKline and the UK’s Globalpharma will not only enhance the sustainability of the pharmaceutical sector in the UAE, but will also help effectively meet the needs of all patients,” Al Amiri said.

For his part, Patrick Moody said, “The partnership between GlaxoSmithKline and Globalpharma highlights the importance of the growing collaboration between the UK and the UAE in the field of life sciences, which reflects positively on patients. It also represents an additional milestone in the UAE’s progress towards achieving its aspirations of developing a world-class hub for health care, life sciences, and biopharmaceutical industries.”

UAE Ambassador presents credentials to President of Somalia

MOGADISHU, Ahmad Juma Al Rumaithi presented his credentials as the UAE Ambassador to Somalia to Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, during a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Mogadishu.

During the meeting, Al Rumaithi conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, as well as their wishes to President Mohamud and the people of Somalia for further development and prosperity.

In turn, President Mohamud conveyed his greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and expressed his wishes for the people of the UAE to achieve further growth and prosperity.

President Mohamud also wished Al Rumaithi success in his efforts to enhance ties between the two countries while highlighting his country’s readiness to support him in his duties.

For his part, Al Rumaithi expressed his pride at representing the UAE in the Federal Republic of Somalia and his keenness to continue developing bilateral relations in key fields to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in order to achieve the aspirations of the two countries and peoples.

UAE leaders congratulate Iraqi Prime Minister on Parliament’s approval to new government

ABU DHABI, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani, Prime Minister of Iraq, on the Iraqi Parliament’s approval to the new government formation.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, also dispatched a similar message to the Iraqi Prime Minister.

DUBAI, From November 15-17, Dubai will witness the launch of the widest and most impressive display of innovative assistive technology products and rehabilitation services, through the 4th edition of AccessAbilities Expo (AAE-2022), which will focus on ensuring access to products and services that enhance the capacities of people of determination.

The largest of its kind in the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian sub-continent region, the Expo will turn into the largest platform for manufacturers and distributors of assistive products, as well as government authorities, rehabilitation centres, and health and educational centres dealing with people of determination. The event, which will be held at Halls 5, 6 and 7 of the Dubai World Trade Centre, represents the ideal solution to meet the aspirations and expectations of more than 50 million people of determination living in the Middle East and North Africa.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates the number of this segment at present at about one billion people around the world; the number is expected to jump to 2 billion people by 2050 as a result of ageing, wars, ill health, poverty, lack of services and other reasons.

The previous edition of the Expo had the participation of more than 8,000 people, along with over 250 exhibitors from 50 countries who brought the world’s latest robotic and assistive technologies which assist individuals with disabilities live life more independently.
