DUBAI, e& enterprise, part of e& (formerly known as Etisalat Group), today announced the signing of a binding agreement to form a joint venture with Bespin Global, a leading public cloud managed services provider. The joint venture will be branded “Bespin Global MEA, an e& enterprise company”, focusing on offering public cloud managed and professional services to serve the customers in the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Pakistan (METAP).

The JV will be 65 percent owned by e& enterprise and 35 percent by Bespin Global. Both e& enterprise and Bespin Global will contribute their existing public cloud businesses and related professional and managed services from the region to the JV. e& enterprise will be making a primary investment of $60 million in Bespin Global and join its Board of Directors. In addition, e& enterprise has the option to invest another $60 million within a period of 18 months from completion of the transaction. Both shareholders will contribute growth capital to the JV.

The joint venture will leverage on the capabilities of both companies. e& enterprise will provide strong local market presence and its broad portfolio of digital transformation solutions. Bespin Global will provide deep expertise in cloud migration, cloud operations, cloud native application development, cloud optimisation and cloud billing. The joint venture will provide a one-stop cloud solution to help enterprises in its digital transformation journey.

As a part of the agreement, e& enterprise will also invest in Bespin Global’s holding company. Bespin Global is one of the fastest growing cloud managed service providers serving over 1,700 customers from its locations in South Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the US. Bespin Global has been recognised as ‘Visionary’ in the Gartner MQ for the Public Cloud IT Transformation Services category, and has over 1,000 cloud experts across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and other cloud platforms.

The total investment and future commitments announced today are worth over $100 million.

DUBAI, Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, has presented his credentials as the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) at IRENA headquarters in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. The letter of credentials was received by Francesco La Camera, Director-General IRENA.

On the occasion, Ambassador Tirmizi reiterated Pakistan’s full support to meet the objectives of IRENA’s activities and initiatives stating that mainstreaming renewable energy remains a priority for Pakistan, a spokesperson of the Consulate-General of Pakistan in Dubai confirmed to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Ambassador Tirmizi said that the Government of Pakistan’s focus is on diversifying energy resources, which include hydropower, natural gas, coal and nuclear energy, besides the renewables such as solar, wind and biomass energy to meet the growing energy demands of the country.

IRENA’s membership comprises 167 countries and the EU.

DUBAI, In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, issued Law No. (24) of 2022, partially amending Law No. (13) of 2016 concerning the Judicial Authorities in Dubai.

Pursuant to the new Law, the Judicial Inspection Department has been renamed the Judicial Inspection Authority. The title of the head of the Authority has also been changed from the Director of the Judicial Inspection Department to the President of the Judicial Inspection Authority.

The Law replaced clauses No. (2), (33) and (63) of the original Law, related to the grades and job titles of employees of the courts and public prosecution.

Law No. (24) of 2022 affiliates the Judicial Inspection Authority to the President of the Judicial Council in Dubai. The Judicial Inspection Authority consists of the President of the Authority and several experienced inspection judges who shall be appointed by a Decree issued by the Dubai Ruler.

The President of the Dubai Judicial Council will issue regulations governing the Authority’s administrative, financial and technical operations, including HR matters, subject to Dubai Government HR Law No. (8) of 2018 until the issuance of specific HR regulations as prescribed in the Law.

Law No. (24) is effective from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also issued Decrees No. (47), (48), (49), (50), and (51) related to the appointment and promotion of judges in Dubai Courts and members of the Public Prosecution.

Decree No. (47) of 2022 relates to the appointment of the President of the Personal Status Court, Judge Khaled Al-Hosani, as President of the Court of First Instance. The Decree is effective from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Decree No. (48) of 2022 relates to the promotion of several Appeal Court judges as Senior Appeal Judges. The Decree also promoted judges in the Court of First Instance as Appeal Court Judges. The Decree is effective from 1 January 2023 and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Decree No. (49) of 2022 relates to the promotion of several Chief Prosecutors as Senior Chief Prosecutors and several Assistant Chief Prosecutors as Chief Prosecutors. The Decree also promoted several Deputy Prosecutors to Assistant Chief Prosecutors. The Decree is effective from 1 January 2023 and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Decree No. (50) of 2022 relates to the promotion of Ahmed Ali Ahmed Khamis Alnoun AlDhanahani, Senior Cassation Judge at Dubai Court, as an Appeal Court Judge. The Decree is effective from 1 May 2023 and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Decree No. (51) of 2022 relates to the transfer and appointment of several judges in the Court of First Instance. The Decree is effective from the date the judges take the oath and will be published in the Official Gazette.
