Foreign Ministry condoles China over Beijing hospital fire victims

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed its deepest condolences to the friendly People’s Republic of China over victims of a hospital fire in Beijing, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries. In a statement on Wednesday, the ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s sympathy with China, expressing its condolences to the victims’ families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Ministry of Islamic Affairs Wins Best Pavilion Award at 34th Sarajevo International Book Fair

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance’s pavilion, represented by King Fahd Cultural Center in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital Sarajevo, has won the award for the most successful pavilion of the office presentation from the Government of Sarajevo for the second consecutive year at the 34th edition of the Sarajevo International Book Fair.

The award was received by the acting Director General of King Fahd Cultural Center, Abdullatif bin Nasser Al-Hussein, during the closing ceremony of the 2023’s edition of the Book Fair.

King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan Arrives in Jeddah

King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan arrived in Jeddah today.

At King Abdulaziz International Airport, the King of Jordan was received by Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region; Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Naif bin Bander Al-Sudairi; and a number of senior officials.

UDC’s Net Profit Increases 10 Percent in Q1 2023

The net profit of the United Development Company (UDC) increased by 10 percent during the three-month period ending March 21, 2023 to reach QR 88 million in comparison to QR 80 million for the same period of the previous year.

A statement posted on the Qatar Stock Exchange’s website on Wednesday said the Earnings Per Share (EPS) amounted to QR 0.025 during Q1 of 2023 versus Earnings Per Share (EPS) QR 0.023 for the same period in 2022.

Ukraine Receives US Patriot Air Defense Systems

Ukraine announced that it has received the US Patriot air defense systems, in a move it says it will help protect its airspace from Russian missiles.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov announced today that his country’s military received the first US Patriot surface-to-air missile defense systems.

“Today, our beautiful Ukrainian sky becomes more secure because Patriot air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine,” he tweeted, adding: “Our partners have kept their word.” Early this month, the United States announced a new military aid package to Ukraine worth USD 2.6 billion, which includes Patriot surface-to-air missile defense systems and artillery ammunition, bringing the total value of military aid provided by the United States to Ukraine since the Russian military operation began on February 24, 2022, to USD 35.1 billion.

KSrelief Distributes over 32 Tons of Food Baskets to Syrian, Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 32 tons and 500 kilograms of food baskets on Monday to the neediest Syrian and Palestinian refugee families and the host community in Naameh, Mount Lebanon Governorate, Lebanon.

The aid is part of the project aimed at supporting food security in Lebanon during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1444AH-2023AD. This distribution is one of the many relief and humanitarian projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to help people and countries in need worldwide.
