Abu Dhabi: The Foreign Trade and Export Support division of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) hosted a seminar entitled “Introduction to Export Logistics” to impart contemporary exporting skills to exporters.
Dr. Adeeb Al Afifi, Director of Foreign Trade and Export Support explained, “Last year’s excellent feedback from participating companies prompted us to ask Expeditors International to lead the session again this year.” Hadi El Hajj, Branch Operations Manager, Expeditors International Abu Dhabi explained “Exporting allows companies to grow and prosper. As part of the Abu Dhabi and UAE business community, we want to contribute to other companies growing by making sure they have the knowledge and tools that will allow them to do so. ” One of the roles of the Export Support division is to provide companies access to the proper skills needed to begin exporting or become exporters that are more effective.
Dr. Adeeb Al Afifi, commented, “We are providing companies the opportunities through capability development programs such as today’s seminar to gain knowledge and skills needed by exporters.
The attendees learned about the fundamentals of export logistics, including cargo movements, supply chain, how to convert cargo measurements and calculate chargeable weight, understanding custom clearance, and project logistics.
Bader Al Jenaibi, Head of Foreign Trade ‘&’ Export Support Section encouraged Abu Dhabi companies to participate in future events to increase company export capabilities.
