Assistant Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs and Moroccan official discuss cooperation on human rights

WAM RABAT, 6th April, 2014 (WAM) — Dr. Abdul Rahim Yousef Al Awadi, Assistant Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs, has met with Mohammed Al Sabar, Moroccan Secretary-General of the National Council for Human Rights in Rabat, in the presence of Saeed Muhair Al Kitbi, Advisor at the U.A.E. Embassy to the Kingdom of Morocco.

Dr. Abdul Rahim outlined the development of human rights in the U.A.E., noting the wise leadership’s keenness to protect human rights, in accordance with the local attributes and in line with the principles and values of Arab and Islamic countries, as well as with respect to the requirements of international law.

Al Awadi said that the U.A.E. will move forward to defend human rights and protect them with all legal means, thanks to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He stressed that the U.A.E. spares no effort in safeguarding and protecting human rights and upgrading them to the highest levels in line with the vision of the leadership and the privacy of U.A.E. society.

For his part, Mohammed Al Sabar praised the deep relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, stressing the Moroccan National Council’s readiness to cooperate with institutions concerned with human rights in the U.A.E. for the benefit of the two countries.
