Sharjah Chamber, Real Estate Registration reveal details of ACRES 2024

SHARJAH: During a media briefing, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department (SRERD) announced the details of the new edition of the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition – ‘ACRES 2024’, being held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, between 17th and 20th January, at Expo Centre, Sharjah.

‘ACRES’ represents a distinguished platform for companies and developers in the real estate sector to promote new projects, with a significant opportunity to meet different segments of people and investors interested in exploring investment opportunities. In addition, it reflects the sharp real estate growth due to the economic initiatives and incentives provided by the UAE government targeting residents wishing to reside, work, and invest in the country as a preferred safe and stable global destination.

During this briefing, the organising committee announced the participation of more th
an 372 new real estate projects from inside and outside the country, including real estate projects from the UAE, the Sultanate of Oman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Georgia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Turkey. Moreover, the exhibition exclusively includes offers presented by major participating real estate developers.

In addition, the exhibition space has increased by 60 percent compared to last year to accommodate the increased demand from participating companies. This was due to the significant success achieved in the previous edition regarding exclusive investment deals and the high value of sales and transactions. The exhibition is expected to witness unparalleled visitor turnout in its new edition compared to the numbers seen during its previous editions.

Furthermore, the committee also added that each edition of the exhibition is committed to presenting different programmes and activities, including forums, panel discussions, workshops, and specialised industry talks in both Arabic and Englis
h, presented by key industry experts and market leaders discussing the industry and its prospects, in addition to valuable prizes.

The exhibition is officially sponsored by the ‘Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey’, ‘Sharjah Economic Development Department’, ‘Sharjah City Municipality’, and ‘Sharjah Housing Department’, in addition to media sponsorship from ‘Sharjah Broadcasting and Television Authority’, ‘The Financial World Magazine’, and academic sponsorship from “Innovation Experts Real Estate Institute’ and “Thinkprop Real Estate Institute”, in addition to advertising sponsorship from “Site Global” and support from the host “Expo Centre Sharjah”.

Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director-General of SRERD, said during his speech, ‘This year, the exhibition is being held at a time when the emirate is witnessing the launch of various commercial, industrial, and residential projects, which reflects the continuous growth of the real estate sector in Sharjah.’

He added, ‘The emirate is attracting inves
tments and capital, and hence, the population is increasing, which in turn increased the demand for residential real estate. Such demand was met and enhanced by Sharjah Executive Council Resolution No. (30) issued in November 2022, which allowed all nationalities to own real estate of all kinds without limitation of time in real estate development areas and projects, after getting the approval.’

In this context, Al Shamsi pointed out, ‘Such wise decisions by the Sharjah’s Executive Council are critical. Add to them the exclusive discount of buying and selling fees on real estate transactions during the show days at ACRES 2024. “It joins a series of precedent decisions supporting the real estate sector’, he stressed, adding that ‘These decisions represent a strong impetus and an important step to support the real estate sector and provide it with more sustainable growth factors.’

For his part, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, Director-General of SCCI, stated, ‘The exhibition confirms Sharjah’s remarkable devel
opment and growth, thanks to the continued support of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the keen follow-up of Sheikh Sultan, who is also Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, in addition to the determined efforts made by Sharjah government to support the real estate sector.’

He added, ‘The real estate sector constitutes one of the pillars of the economic diversification strategy in the emirate, as Sharjah is characterised by a wide urban renaissance that has strengthened its position as a leading global destination.’

Al Awadhi concluded his statement by saying, ‘SCCI is keen to continue organising this event and enabling it to achieve its goals, in terms of contributing to giving additional impetus to the real estate sector, increasing its activity, and highlighting the many investment opportunities in this sector.’
