Dubai: The Dubai Convention Bureau (DCB) – a division of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) – was a lead sponsor of the two-day Indian Association Congress (IAC) held recently in Mumbai.
The sponsorship falls in line with their vision to position Dubai as the leading tourism destination and commercial hub of the world.
On the occasion, Hamad Mohammed Bin Mejren, CDME Executive Director, Business Tourism commented, “IAC forms a major regional platform with many important organizations within India’s versatile trade industry gathered under one roof and as such we are very pleased to have been able to contribute to this important gathering. India is a significant market for Dubai’s business tourism industry and the sponsorship of the congress’ two luncheons provided excellent networking opportunities for organizations to explore Dubai as a premium MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) destination.” He added: “Dubai has been ranked in the top fifteen best MICE destinations in Asia Pacific and the Middle East region, after well established destinations like Singapore, Hong Kong and Melbourne. DCB with its multi-pronged approach and skilled team is working hard to further elevate the profile of the city”.
In 2011 Dubai hosted 34 international association meetings, not taking into account corporate meetings, and was ranked one of the major international meeting destinations globally by the International Convention and Congress Association.
