The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) hoisted today the UAE flag to join the Flag Day celebrations taking place across the country. The UAE Flag Day marks the accession of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the office as President of the UAE in 2004. Responding to the call from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to celebrate Flag Day; ministries, institutes, schools and government bodies including DHA raised the UAE flag together at 11am to show their pride and appreciation to their homeland. His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority congratulated President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, on the occasion. Al Qutami said, We thank the wise leadership of the UAE. Flag Day is an opportunity for us to reinforce our commitment towards the nation. We are proud of our heritage, civilization, development and this occasion helps us renew our commitment towards our nation and its progress. He added that this year the nation’s flag has soared high in the stars as the International Space Station orbited the Earth. The first Emirati astronaut in space, Hazaa Al Mansoori made the nation so proud. Employees working at the DHA gathered at DHA facilities where the Flag Day ceremony took place with much fanfare and enthusiasm.
