Manama, Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak received Chief Executive of the Labor Fund (Tamkeen) Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi.
Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) Executive Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mohammed Sadeghi was present.
Dr. Janahi congratulated the minister on his appointment and thanked him for the welcome. He expressed his keenness to cooperate with the EWA. The meeting discussed ways of building national capacities in the field of electricity and water with the support of Tamkeen.
The minister said the EWA is keen on building national capabilities, considering that the human element is most important in the development of a system and meeting current and future requirements.
He said discussions with Tamkeen are on in this regard. He said Tamkeen had also expressed its keenness to cooperate in building Bahraini national capacities in the field of electricity and water services.
He said rapid developments and technologies in the field of electricity and water require good preparation of all involved, and everyone should be capable of coping with them.
Dr. Janahi said one of Tamkeen's main objectives is to develop skills and enhance capabilities of Bahrainis. He said Tamkeen supports efforts of various agencies and institutions, including the EWA, in building national capacities in various disciplines.
He said the two sides have agreed on a number of joint initiatives, the details of which would be chalked out in the coming weeks in preparation for their final implementation.
