Manama, Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received the Bahrain office Director of the World Organization for Child Protection Salman Khalid Al Subaie.
He was accompanied member of its Advisory Council Salman Al Nassar Al Dosari.
The two officials congratulated Dr. Mirza for winning the organization’s honor for his efforts in protecting children from the dangers of electricity and raising the family’s awareness about the prevention of the risk of misuse of electrical appliances.
Dr. Mirza praised their continuous efforts in the field of child protection around the world and the development of a system of child rights and welfare.
He said Bahrain had made outstanding efforts in this field. The two sides reviewed ways of enhancing cooperation between the electricity and water sector and the organization in spreading more awareness and education about the dangers of electricity to families and children to create a safe environment free from such risks.
The International Organization for the Protection of Children (INOCPT) works in sustainable development in the fields of child welfare. It was established in 2014 in response to the suffering of children in countries where laws and civil society suffered from lack of development or were at war and there was no system of rights, protection and care of children.
The organization strives to achieve humanitarian principles based on international conventions and norms to protect children. It seeks partnerships and close cooperation with institutions and official bodies, legal and scientific organizations to develop and improve the legal, educational and psychological systems.
