ABU DHABI, The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, ZHO, signed an agreement at the ERC’s headquarters today for cooperation and coordination between both sides in strengthening the services of the People of Determination.
The agreement also stated that they would support each other in the areas of joint partnerships and implement the goals which both sides strive to achieve for the “people with special needs”, while adopting the joint initiatives which strengthen the capabilities of the People of Determination in the field of education, training, rehabilitation and integration in the community.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary-General of the ERC, and Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the ZHO, with the attendance of several officials from both sides.
The clauses in the agreement referred to the fields of cooperation, work mechanisms and strategies that serve both sides, strengthen the ties between them, and enhance the humanitarian work through the exchange of expertise and information related to both parties. It also referred to supporting the joint efforts in implementing the programmes and activities for the People of Determination, implementing their training sessions in health and safety, supporting the abstaining families from the People of Determination who are members of the ZHO and enlisting them within the aided lists of the ERC.
The agreement also focused on cooperation in conducting studies and research to raise the efficiency of the services offered to the People of Determination and providing work opportunities for them in line with their capabilities.
