German Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that the act of revenge is not the right path in the Middle East after Hamas leader Ismael Haniyeh was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Tehran, and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut. This came during a press conference by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Sebastian Fischer in Berlin, where he called on all parties to remain calm and avoid escalation.
Hamas announced early that Haniyeh was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his residence in the Iranian capital Tehran, and Hezbollah’s most senior military commander Fuad Shukr in an air strike in Beirut.
