NEW DELHI, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman AlBanna, the UAE Ambassador to India, met the Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry, Suresh Prabhu, in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The UAE diplomat presented an official invitation to Prabhu to participate in the eighth edition of the Annual Investment Meeting due to be held from 9th to 11th April, 2018, in the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The theme of the meet is “Linking Developed and Emerging Markets through FDI: Partnerships for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development.”
AlBanna briefed the Indian minister on the success of the 7th Annual Investment Forum, which attracted more than 19,000 public and private sector participants from 141 countries and over 100 eminent personalities.
The UAE Ambassador said the forum is an international platform that brings together various stakeholders, from ministers, government departments and international organisations to academia, chambers of commerce and industries, and others.
“As we are the main host, we will have the honour to welcome India as one of the most significant participants at the annual event,” he added.
The Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry thanked the UAE Ambassador for briefing him about the event and wished him good luck. He also conveyed his greetings to UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, for the invitation and accepted it.
