The Sheikh Zayed mosque will house 1000 worshippers, ablution areas and toilets, with separate facilities for men and women. The project will also provide a residence for the incumbent Imam within its structure, along with a reception area, store, and other necessary amenities.
The city of Wuzhong is home to a large Muslim population, and this project will cater to the religious and spiritual needs of its residents to offer prayers and partake in religious rites, in addition to augmenting their understanding of the tenets of science. This mosque aims to be a meeting place for its residents to convene and discuss religious and scientific views, and an arena for modern thinking in keeping with traditional Islamic orientation. It also hopes to be a beacon that will facilitate in strengthening the bonds between Muslims and non-Muslims, educating and empowering all irrespective of their faith and background.
