Maitha Al Shamsi receives Ambassador of Japan

ABU DHABI, Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, has received Akihiko Nakajima, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, to consolidate the relations between the two countries.

Dr. Al Shamsi praised the relations between the two countries, as well as their overall joint cooperation. Both sides discussed the means of strengthening their cooperation.

The minister highlighted the local and international accomplishments of Emirati women, affirming that the UAE’s leadership is supporting women and strengthening their overall social stature. She valued the active role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), and her ongoing support for the journey of women.

She also noted Sheikha Fatima’s efforts to achieve the goals of the UAE-Japan Friendship Committee for Women’s Career Development.

Nakajima praised the UAE’s overall achievements, especially with regards to gender equality and women’s empowerment, while valuing the role of Sheikha Fatima in strengthening the stature of women, especially in politics and the economy.

Nakajima stressed that Japan aims to expand its cooperation with the UAE in the field of family care and women’s empowerment.

Dr. Al Shamsi thanked Nakajima, wishing the people of Japan further advancement and prosperity.
