Arriving at the palace accompanied by the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the visiting President was accorded an official ceremonial reception.
The two presidents walked up to the dais as a band played the Yemeni national anthem, following which the Artillery Regiment fired a 21-gun salute to the country’s guest. Later the two Presidents inspected the guard of honour lined up in the courtyard of the palace.
The President then accompanied the Yemeni Head of State to the Union Hall at the Palace, where the latter shook hands with Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials, as well as with commissioned and non-commissioned officers who had arrived to welcome him.
Among those who were present were the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, H. H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Speaker of the Federal National Council, Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, the Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, H. H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the National Security Advisor, H. H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative H. H. Sheikh Saeed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, H. H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H. H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H. H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H. H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, H. H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, H. H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Etihad Airways, H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Executive Council Member and a number of other Sheikhs, Ministers and senior officials.
The President then shook hands with the members of the delegation accompanying the Yemeni President, including Foreign Minister Dr. Abu Baker Al Qarbi, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Saeedi, Minister of Finance Sakhr Ahmed Abbas Alwajeeh, Secretary General to the Presidency of Yemen, Dr. Ali Mansour, the Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of Yemen in the UAE, Abdel Hakim Alariyani, and a number of other senior officials.
A mission of honour led by Labour Minister Saqr Ghobash is accompanying the Yemeni President and his delegation.
The Yemeni President arrived in the country earlier today in a two-day state visit.
