Qatar Wins Gold Medal in Vault Pole Competition within Arab Athletics U23 Championship in Tunisia

Qatari national team athlete Saif Hamida won the gold medal in the pole vault competition in the Arab Athletics U23 Championship in Tunisia.

The Championship, in which 18 national teams are participating, will conclude on Wednesday.

Saif Hamida came in first place for jumping a distance of 5.30 meters, ahead of Iraqi Amir Faleh Abdel-Wahed, who scored 4.90 meters, and his compatriot Amir Sobeih, who scored 4:85 meters.

Arab national teams’ male and female athletes are competing in 22 races and competitions, in which the Qatari team is taking part with five male and female track and field athletes and these are: Saif Hamida in the pole vault competition, Hussein Ibrahim and Ashraf Osman in the 400m race, Ammar Obaid in the 400m hurdles race, and Abdul Majeed Zakaria in the 200m race, in addition to Saja Issa in the Women’s 400m hurdles, and Samar Mansour in the Women’s pole vault competition.
