The meetings were held as part of the delegations’ visit to France.
Al Tayer presented the roles, responsibilities, and energy efficiency initiatives of the Council which aims to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Al Tayer shed light on the roadmap and progress of the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, which aims to diversify energy mix and reduce demand by implementing international best practices in the field of energy conservation. The meetings discussed the Council’s initiatives to ensure energy supply, increase the efficiency of electricity, power, and fuel, and investment opportunities.
Al Tayer urged the French companies to take part in energy projects in Dubai, and invited them to participate in the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2014. The French officials welcomed the invitation and praised the importance of WETEX.
DEWA and the Supreme Council’s delegation met experts and senior representatives from the French Electricity company ?lectricit? de France and discussed with Olivier Orsini, CEO of International Development, the overall status of the electricity and energy sectors in France.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the French Government, its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the French Businessmen’s Association, the French Business Council, the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF), the Renewable Energies Syndicate (SER) and the French Trade Commission, and discussed electricity and energy technologies, energy management, renewable energy, and reducing carbon emissions.
Al Tayer provided an overview of DEWA’s initiatives, projects, and potential opportunities to French officials and experts and invited them visit DEWA to conduct mutual workshops to exchange expertise and strengthen joint work. The visit concluded with a site visit to Power and Electricity Management Centres in Paris.
