In her speech Ms Pia Roed, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Sweden in Abu Dhabi, emphasized the role of cooperation between government/the public sector, business and academia in building a climate of innovation.
High quality education for all and fostering a culture of trial and error were other success factors for Sweden. Ms. Jenny Lundgren, Head of Communications, at the organization Swedish Incubators & Science Parks, SISP, also highlighted the value of cooperation between different sectors of society. Talking about the role of incubators in product development the advice from Ms Lundgren was to share your ideas and not wait too long to launch your products: “If you wait for perfection of an idea before launching it, it is normally too late and someone else has passed you in putting it into practice”.
