WAM BAHRAIN, 23rd March, 2014 (WAM) — The U.A.E. is to participate in the 13th edition of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, which will launch in Bahrain tomorrow.
Now in its thirteenth edition, the festival, under the banner, “Youth are the future of our media” has the aim of shedding light on young talent through seminars, workshops and new media content which targets youth in particular.
In the festival, the U.A.E. will participate with a number of radio and television productions.
The participation this year is the largest in the history of the festival, with the events running from March 24th – 28th. The participation indicates a growing confidence in the festival and its influential role in promoting radio and TV production, and the dynamic production scene in the region, according to the Secretary-General of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, Dr. Abdullah bin Saeed Abu Ras.
This year, 135 works are competing within the 3 festival categories: TV shows between Gulf and Arabic private production companies, shows produced by the committees of the members of the Gulf Radio and Television in the two competitions dedicated to the radio TV production, and two additional categories adopted by the festival for the first time; Gulf private radio contest and new media.
