ABU DHABI: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Dr. Andrea Caroni, President of the Council of States of the Swiss Confederation, to discuss strengthening parliamentary relations. The discussions focused on exchanging expertise, coordinating on international issues, and enhancing participation in global parliamentary events.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting underscored the strong bilateral ties between the UAE and Switzerland. Ghobash congratulated Caroni on his recent election as President of the Council of States and emphasized the significance of bolstering parliamentary cooperation to reflect the strategic partnership between the two countries. He noted that the collaboration holds promising prospects, underpinned by their established economic and trade relations.

Dr. Andrea Caroni expressed his commitment to expanding cooperation with the UAE across various sectors. He acknowledged the UAE’s significant economic standing and its development, along with its policies that promote international security, peace, and stability.
