DUBAI, A new initiative by the Zayed Giving Convoys will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, preventive and educational services to the underprivileged in poor and disaster-struck countries.
It was jointly launched by Zayed Giving Initiative, ZGI, Dar Al Ber Society,DAS and Mawada Group.
Abdullah Ali Al Falasi, Executive Director of DAS, said the one-year initiative will see the Zayed Charity Medical Convoys run 15 to 25 voluntary medical mission with an annual budget of AED 1 million.
”The selection of targeted countries will be made in coordination with the donors and according to the allocated budget, while the Zayed Giving Initiative will provide technical and logistic support,” he state.
Omran Mohamed Abdullah, Head of Charitable Projects at DAS, said the ZGI will take care of management, operation as well as technical support for 15 mobile clinics and a field hospital at a total cost of AED 15 million.
”The new programme will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, preventive and educational services in addition to capacity-building and integrated relief efforts,” he added.
