MoHAP, US delegation discuss promoting healthcare cooperation

DUBAI, Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Health Services (EHS), has met with the American delegation headed by Michael Udine, the official spokesperson for the government and private medical sector and mayor of Broward County, Florida.

The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters in Dubai, discussed ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the healthcare field.

During the meeting, which also featured several private health companies and government officials, the sides also explored methods of exchanging expertise and pioneering experiences of government and private health institutions.

Furthermore, the discussion focused on the latest achievements and technological innovations in the health field, in addition to the potential for forging health agreements to improve community health in both countries.

Dr. Al Olama emphasised the importance of the meeting in exploring avenues for constructive cooperation and exchanging views on best practices in the field of healthcare, as well as the ministry’s desire to strengthen international relations in healthcare services.

The MoHAP Under-Secretary briefed the US delegation on the ministry’s innovative initiatives and latest projects in digital health and smart services, emphasising the long and arduous process of building appropriate technology to administer the UAE’s health system.

He also shed light on the ministry’s key achievements in health studies and research to come up with sustainable solutions to health challenges.

Lauding the UAE health system’s significant development and sophisticated infrastructure, the US delegation also expressed a desire to enhance bilateral cooperation to serve the health sector on both sides.

According to the delegation, Broward County, Florida, has one of the ten largest health systems in the United States, with over 7,592 employees. The county’s first certified stroke centre and liver transplant programme are both part of Broward Health, which currently manages more than 30 healthcare facilities.

Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure discusses cooperation with US delegation

DUBAI, The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure discussed, with a delegation from Broward County, Florida, visiting the UAE, ways of strengthening their cooperation in infrastructure, housing and transport.

Their discussion took place during a meeting between Sheikh Nasser Al Qasimi, Assistant Under-Secretary for Infrastructure and Transport Regulation at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and Michael Udine, Mayor of Broward County, and his delegation.

During the meeting, the US delegation was briefed about the UAE’s efforts to promote partnerships between the public and private sectors in infrastructure, housing and transport.

The two sides also discussed ways of consolidating their relevant cooperation and exchanging expertise.

Sheikh Nasser said the projects implemented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure aim to meet the needs of various regions and keep pace with the rapid growth witnessed by the country, improve quality of life and establish high-quality infrastructure and reinforce the country’s international competitiveness and future approach.

Udine highlighted his admiration for the UAE’s significant efforts to launch developmental projects that will enable it to occupy leading international positions, lauding the efforts of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the country’s key achievements across all geographic regions.

The visit underscores the importance of cooperation and benefits from the distinguished experiences and best government practices of both countries, he added.
