UAE announces 225 new COVID-19 cases, 253 recoveries, no deaths in last 24 hours

ABU DHABI, The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that it conducted 195,790 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

In a statement, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary care treatment. As part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP announced 225 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 900,251.

According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.

The Ministry added that no COVID-19-related deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours, with the total number of deaths remaining unchanged at 2,302.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 253 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 884,228.

DoH to showcase prominent services for medical tourists at ATM 2022

ABU DHABI, The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the healthcare sector regulator in the emirate, is set to showcase Abu Dhabi’s most prominent healthcare services available for medical tourists at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2022.

Set to be held from 9th to 12th May, 2022, the event will see the DoH highlighting key investment opportunities in the emirate’s healthcare sector.

Joining the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi stand, the DoH will present Abu Dhabi’s latest therapeutic disciplines, world-class services and outstanding facilities to visitors and medical tourists.

Hind Al Zaabi, Executive Director of Healthcare Facilities at the DoH, said, “The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi is excited and proud to represent Abu Dhabi’s leading healthcare sector at the upcoming Arabian Travel Market 2022. During its participation, the department will showcase its Capacity Master Plan, specifically designed to help Abu Dhabi respond to its current and future healthcare demands and provide and plan investment opportunities available in the emirate in the next two decades.

The medical tourism programme available in Abu Dhabi is tailored to provide travelling patients with high-end medical services and ensure they are well taken care of from the moment they arrive in the emirate. The programme includes services such as a relaxed medical visa and on-ground transportation to ensure patients enjoy a steady and smooth recovery while feeling at home.

UAE leaders congratulate King Salman on success of medical tests

ABU DHABI, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, have sent congratulatory messages to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, after undergoing successful medical tests at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah.

Success of its comprehensive security plan implemented during Eid al-Fitr holiday: Sharjah Police

SHARJAH, Sharjah Police (SP) confirmed the success of its comprehensive security plan implemented during the Eid Al Fitr holiday in all cities of Sharjah, reflecting the extent of the strategic efficiency with which all the competent authorities in Sharjah Police and strategic partners dealt.

Colonel Jassim bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director of Operations Department at Sharjah Police, confirmed that the efforts made by the various work teams helped with the success of the plan drawn up to establish security and safety during the holiday.

He revealed that the Operations Room received 42,042 phone calls during the period from April 29 to May 8, including 39,008 phone calls via the number 999 designated for emergency cases, while it received 3034 non-emergency calls to the number 901, which included general inquiries and police services provided.

All calls, reports, and inquiries received were dealt with promptly Lt. Col. Omar Bughanim, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, confirmed the success of the traffic plan developed and implemented by the department during the Eid holiday, with the participation of various units of Sharjah Police.
