Dubai Airports boosts Emiratis in frontline roles with fire services training programme

DUBAI, Dubai Airports is boosting Emiratis in frontline roles with first batch of graduates of its state-of-the-art emergency services training programme structured to develop a world-class Emirati firefighting team at Dubai International (DXB) trained to the highest industry and professional standards and ready to respond to any possible emergency.

Following this first batch of graduates, which included 23 trainees, Dubai Airports is actively recruiting the next cohort of Emiratis to join its world class firefighting team.

The new programme, empowers and enables nationals to succeed in the Airport Fire Services department and improve their broader professional competence in the aviation sector.

Graduates completed a 14-week intensive training programme that comprised six weeks of English language training provided in partnership with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) followed by an intensive eight-week firefighting training programme provided through International Fire Training Centre-Serco at Dubai World Central (DWC) airport.

Dubai Airports maintains one of the largest airport fire services departments in the world across two airports. The department is fully equipped with a fleet of Aviation Rosenbauer vehicles armed with the latest aircraft firefighting technologies and safety controls, domestic vehicles, MICC (Mobile incident Command vehicle) to monitor incidents, water tankers, as well as rescue stairs vehicles at each location.

ENOC Group launches latest Elink station at Jebel Ali Free Zone

DUBAI, ENOC Link, an ENOC Group innovative digital venture company, today announced the launch of its newest eLink station. Located at Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), the new eLink station is located near Gate 4 and will enable motorists from over 8,700 companies in the business community easy access and convenient fuelling services daily from 6:00 to 18:00.

ENOC’s eLink station is equipped with a 11,500 litre tank that can handle two grades of products and fuel up to four vehicles simultaneously, thereby cutting down on waiting time. The station is designed to cater to individual customers inside the free zone. The truck is also equipped with innovative digital meters and multi payment options giving customers an outstanding reliable fuelling experience.

Designed as a futuristic truck, the eLink station does not require assembly and can easily be deployed and relocated to different locations if needed, without any downtime. The eLink station includes vapour recovery systems to reduce emissions while loading from storage tanks. The latest eLink station offers a reliable supply of Special 95 and diesel fuels at the same price as retail fuel stations.

Over the course of 2021, ENOC opened four eLink stations in Dubai’s Town Square Centre and The Palm Jumeirah as well as in Al Reef and Hydra Village in Abu Dhabi.

Emirates partners with DCT Abu Dhabi to encourage more visits and boost tourism to the emirate

DUBAI, Emirates and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost tourist numbers across the airline’s global network. The new partnership is part of the airline’s commitment to promote tourism to the UAE by aligning activities with other tourism partners and capitalising on opportunities to encourage visitors to experience more than one destination in the UAE during their stay.

The MoU was signed at Arabian Travel Market by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer and Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director-General for Tourism, at DCT Abu Dhabi.

Under the MoU, the parties will work closely to explore and implement promotional activities as well as bespoke packages for tour operators and the wider travel trade in key markets across the airline’s network to encourage visits to Abu Dhabi as part of their overall UAE holiday. The two partners will also collaborate on advertising and cross promotional marketing campaigns, familiarisation programmes for travel trade and media, as well as promotional competitions.

Tourism is one of the key pillars of the UAE Economy. It also plays a large role in the diversification of the country’s economy. In 2021, the Emirates Tourism Council was formed to strengthen the UAE’s tourism portfolio, through collaboration across all local tourism authorities and departments in the emirates with the aim to enhance the UAE’s position as a preferred global destination. The UAE’s tourism sector is expected to contribute to 5.4% of the nation’s total GDP, or AED 116.1 billion (USD 31.6 billion) and is forecasted to support over 1 million jobs by 2027.
