Annual Radiology meeting to commence next month in Dubai

DUBAI, The 7th edition of the Annual Radiology Meeting (ARM 2022) will take place next month at the Dubai World Trade Centre with the presence of leading health experts from around the world.

 

This year’s edition, scheduled to run from 25th to 27th October, will feature the participation of more than 30 companies from over 25 different countries.

 

The conference agenda also features 65 scientific sessions which will focus on the most recent technological advances in the field of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging while providing a opportunity for companies to showcase their advanced products and services and meet face to face with Radiologists, Radiographers, Hospital Administrators, Educators & Researchers, Residents & Technicians and Radiation Oncologists.

 

Over three days, the ARM 2022 conference will be running in different scientific routes divided into an efficient structure, including Radiologist Conference, Dedicated Radiographer Sessions and a virtual Nuclear Medicine & Ultrasound Seminar for Radiographers.

 

Running in coherence with the conference is also the ARM Trade Exhibition which offers a great platform to meet with chief decision makers and market the latest technologies and innovations that are set to enhance the practice of Radiology.

The 7th edition of the conference and exhibition will also be hosting the Radiology Business Hub, which acts as an exclusive B2B platform for exhibitors and qualified buyers and specialists that helps enable pre-scheduled meetings between exhibitors and decision makers from leading healthcare facilities and radiology centers.

The Annual Radiology Meeting is an annual event organised by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions, a member of INDEX Holding, in collaboration with the Radiology Society of the Emirates (RSE) and the Radiographers Society of the Emirates (RASE).

UAE leaders congratulate Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis Federation on Independence Day

ABU DHABI, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to Governor-General of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis Samuel Weymouth Tapley Seaton, on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day, marked on 19th September.

 

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, sent similar messages to the Governor-General of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and his Prime Minister D. Terrence Drew.

Financial Restructuring Committee holds Consultative Council’s 2nd meeting for 2022

DUBAI, The Financial Restructuring Committee (FRC) recently held the second meeting of its Consultative Council, which provides an open discussion forum between the FRC and the experts in the field of financial reorganisation of defaulting companies and bankruptcy cases.

 

Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Chairman of the FRC chaired the meeting, which was held in Dubai. In attendance were Lawyer Mohammed Al-Suwaidi, Chairman of the CIG, Dr. Hussam Al Talhuni, legal advisor to the Minister of Finance, Secretary of the FRC; Mohamad Al Moueiny, Assistant Secretary of the FRC; and Mira Al Jabri, Project Manager; as well as a number of financial experts.

 

During the meeting, Al Khoori emphasised the key role played by the Consultative Council in strengthening cooperation between the FRC and experts in the field of financial reorganisation of defaulting companies and bankruptcy cases. He also reaffirmed the council’s keenness to create an interactive atmosphere with experts and consultants whose practical knowledge is in line with the highest international standards.

 

“The Consultative Council is an important platform to deliberate the obstacles that limit the commercial community’s desire to use financial reorganisation tools before the FRC or resort to the courts to request financial restructuring or bankruptcy,” he stated.

 

The meeting sought to preview the structure of establishing the Consultative Council of the FRC, the main objectives behind the formation of the Council, as well as discuss the development of the financial reorganisation service. The meeting also deliberated the best ways to communicate relevant information about financial restructuring procedures and how to generalise it to the community.

 

The meeting also discussed the obstacles and reasons that limit the commercial community’s desire to use financial reorganisation tools before the FRC or resort to the courts to request financial restructuring or bankruptcy.

 

Additionally, the members reviewed means of dealing with experts the field of financial reorganisation of defaulting companies and bankruptcy cases, and means of empowering and qualifying the registered experts. They also deliberated ways to develop programmes and train experts, lawyers, and the judiciary on issues of financial reorganisation and bankruptcy.

 

The members of the Consultative Council shall be nominated by the FRC members, provided that they are experts in the field of financial reorganisation and bankruptcy. The membership of the Consultative Council currently consists of at least seven members who are natural or legal persons who practice their business in the UAE.

Dubai Supreme Council of Energy announces Emirate’s success in reducing 21% carbon emissions in 2021

DUBAI, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, chaired the 72nd meeting held virtually, with Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, also participating.

 

The meeting was attended by Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, and board members Dawood Al Hajri, Director-General of Dubai Municipality; Abdulla bin Kalban, Managing Director of Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA); Saif Humaid Al Falasi, CEO of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC); Juan-Pablo Freile, General Manager of Dubai Petroleum, and Hussain Al Banna, Acting CEO of the Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

 

The meeting discussed several topics, including the results achieved by the Dubai Carbon Abatement Strategy 2030, which aims to reduce 30 percent of carbon emissions by the end of 2030, in support of the UAE’s efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

 

Dubai reduced carbon emissions by 21 percent in 2021, which reflects the effectiveness of the emirate’s programmes and projects. These include increasing the share of solar energy and enhancing the operational efficiency in factories and facilities, in addition to waste recycling in power and water production, industry, ground transport and waste treatment. The Supreme Council also discussed a plan submitted by Emirates Gas Company (an ENOC subsidiary) for the coming period to enhance current gas cylinders to advanced ones in terms of safety and reduced weight.

 

“In line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to increase the share of clean and renewable energy, the meeting reviewed our roadmap and plans that include national initiatives and strategies to achieve net-zero carbon emissions and consolidate a low-carbon economy. These include the Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative, the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100 percent of the total power production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050, and the Dubai Carbon Abatement Strategy 2030, as well as adopting the latest technologies in this area,” Al Tayer said.

 

“The development and implementation of the existing programmes and projects had a positive and tangible impact, reflected in the carbon emission reduction rates over the past 10 years. This highlighted the efforts made by the relevant authorities that support a sustainable green economy and the UAE’s vision to achieve net-zero carbon emissions,” he added.

 

“The current plan to shift to using the advanced cylinders ensures better efficiency and more safety for consumers. Emirates Gas has introduced 9,000 advanced cylinders that consumers in Dubai have been satisfied with over the past years,” Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, said.

Dubai records over AED1.6 billion in realty transactions Monday

DUBAI, Dubai real estate market recorded 392 sales transactions worth AED900.8 million, in addition to 84 mortgage deals of AED741.14 million, and 15 gift deals amounting to AED37.6 million on Monday, data released by Dubai’s Land Department (DLD) showed.

 

The sales included 341 villas and apartments worth AED700.84 million, and 51 land plots worth AED199.97 million, while mortgages included 61 villas and apartments worth AED364.82 million and 23 land plots valued at AED376.32 million, bringing the total realty transactions of today to over AED1.6 billion.

Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre supports Metaverse simulation of 2117 Mars mission

DUBAI, Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) today announced its support in the development of the Metaverse that will simulate the UAE’s manned 2117 Mars mission.

 

This first-of-its-kind project will be led by BEDU, Dubai’s foremost pioneer in Web3 technologies and solutions.

 

Formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding, the 2117 Metaverse project will involve close collaboration between MBRSC and BEDU. Through a series of workshops and strategy sessions, BEDU will contribute its expertise in the development of the 2117 Metaverse, which will include exciting virtual experiences that capture the sensations of being in space and setting foot on the Red Planet, as well as create awareness around the challenges of exploration and colonisation.

 

Commenting on the collaboration and announcement, Adnan Al Rais, Mars 2117 Programme Manager at the MBRSC, commented, “As we set our sights on ever more challenging destinations for exploration with humans and robots, innovative ideas and future thinking will be critical to helping us reach new milestones. Concepts like this will be supported by MBRSC as we believe this will help us expand our scope of bigger possibilities.”

 

MBRSC will work closely with BEDU experts to guide and influence its development. This will include providing advisory, sharing data and information on Space and Mars as well as forming a steering committee to monitor the progress of the partnership. Both organisations will also collaborate on ideation, creative development, and visualisation of the 2117 metaverse elements.

 

As experts in the Metaverse space, BEDU will provide MBRSC with consultancy and advisory services in areas such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), Web3, and the Metaverse.
