Dubai Customs issues authorisation certificates to free zone companies to enhance investments

DUBAI, Dubai Customs provides the best customs services and facilities to licensed companies in the free zones in Dubai to boost investments and attract more investors into Dubai and to facilitate procedures applied to determine the customs value of the goods imported by the free zone companies.

With this in mind, the Customs Valuation Department issues and approves authorisation certificates for free zones companies, which helps them with faster and smoother customs clearance of their goods.

Thanks to the authorisation service, free zone companies can accept invoices issued in the country of origin. This service can be obtained online through Dubai Customs website and smart channels.

These advanced services that Dubai Customs provides enhance Dubai’s investment competitiveness, which leads to attract more investments to the emirate and achieve the goals of the Projects of the 50 and the UAE Centennial 2071.”

The Customs Valuation Department regularly organises workshops for free zone companies to familiarise them with the authorization service.

Lecture on future of space travel to be held at Museum of the Future

DUBAI, Hazza Al Mansouri, the first Emirati astronaut, is delivering a speech on the future of the UAE astronaut programme and space exploration at the Museum of the Future’s Auditorium on Wednesday, 19th October, 2022.

Al Mansoori’s keynote, in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), is part of the Museum of the Future’s Future Talks series.

The series is part of the museum’s efforts to shed light on inspiring Arab and international figures and present pioneering ideas to experts in the academic, scientific, cultural, social, developmental, and other sectors. The talks aim to explore horizons and opportunities to imagine and design the future.

As part of his visit to the Museum of the Future, Al Mansouri will host a kids’ story-telling session about his visit to the space, where he will engage with around 20 children. The activity, which takes place on Level 5 of the museum in the OSS Hope exhibition, is in line with its aim to inspire future generations. OSS Hope is a depiction of a space station in the year 2071 where visitors interact with various stories and join its community. There will be also a mini exhibition highlighting items from his time in space, including his space suit, the kind of food he ate, and a photo gallery documenting his journey.

Al Mansoori is part of the UAE Astronaut Programme, which was launched by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in 2017.

UAE President condoles Turkish President over victims of mine explosion

ABU DHABI, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, made a phone call to His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, during which he offered his sincere condolences over the victims of the explosion that occurred in a mine in the northern state of Bartin, which resulted in the deaths and injury of dozens of people.

His Highness expressed the UAE’s solidarity with Türkiye’s government and its people, praying to Allah Almighty to grant families of the victims patience and solace, and the injured a speedy recovery.

In turn, President Erdogan thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed for his heartfelt sympathies and wished the UAE and its people continued progress and prosperity, highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two countries.
