وجاءت مشاركة الصندوق الثقافي في النسخة السادسة الحالية للمنتدى بصفته الشريك الاستراتيجي لمؤسسة مبادرة مستقبل الاستثمار الجهة المنظمة للمنتدى الذي انعقد في الفترة من 25 إلى 27 أكتوبر الحالي 2022، ويهدف إلى استغلال الفرص الاستثمارية لدفع عجلة النمو الاقتصادي، وتمكين الابتكار وتفعيل التقنيات المتقدمة، بالإضافة إلى استكشاف ومعالجة التحديات العالمية.

من جانبه تناول مدير برنامج تمويل قطاع الأفلام في الصندوق الثقافي، الأستاذ فيصل العسيري، وعبر جلسة نقاشية بعنوان “ممكنات قطاع الأفلام: تعزيزًا لسوق الأفلام الإقليمي”، مدى الأثر الذي يحدثه إنتاج الأفلام على ازدهار المناطق، ودوره في دعم اقتصادات الدول، وجذب الاستثمار وخلق وجهات جاذبة للسياح، وتعزيز المشهد الفني والثقافي في الدول. كما شدّد العسيري على أهمية تكامل الأدوار بين الجهات الحكومية وشركات القطاع الخاص الممولة لمشاريع الأفلام، بالإضافة إلى أهمية وجود الموارد المحلية لخلق مواقع تصوير جاذبة للمنتجين المحليين والدوليين.

DEWA’s Women Committee hosts Pink Caravan during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

DUBAI, In conjunction with the International Month for Breast Cancer Awareness, which falls in October every year, the Women’s Committee at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) hosted the Pink Caravan, for its female employees to create awareness on early detection of breast cancer and ways to prevent it.

The sessions in Arabic and English, were attended by more than 100 female employees from various divisions.

The Pink Caravan’s specialised team also conducted medical examinations and provided vouchers for mammograms to the participants.

Fatima Al Jokar, Chairperson of the Women’s Committee at DEWA, emphasised that the awareness sessions support the directives of DEWA’s top management to provide a positive work environment for employees to achieve a balance between their professional and social lives. This contributes to building connected families, a solid and cohesive society, and active participation in developing the nation.

It also helps to prepare future generations and support women as pivotal contributors for sustainable, social development.

Aysha Al Asam, Vice-Chairperson of DEWA Women’s Committee, said the Committee organises motivational and awareness lectures throughout the year to ensure a balance between women’s professional and personal lives. The Committee also strives to promote health awareness among female employees, enhance their understanding of early detection and regular check-ups against breast cancer, and increase their chances of recovery.

UAE leaders congratulate President of Türkiye on Republic Day

ABU DHABI, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, on the occasion of his country’s Republic Day.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, also sent a similar message to President Erdogan on the occasion.

International Conference for Initiatives on Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation kicks off in Abu Dhabi 7 November

ABU DHABI, Abu Dhabi will host the International Conference for Initiatives on Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation from 7th-9th November, 2022, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Organised by the UAE National committee for Donation and Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissue, the conference will see the participation of more than 30 speakers including experts and specialists in the field of medical treatment and representatives from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and over 20 countries.

The conference aims to shed light on global experiences and best practices related to the scientific, charitable, societal and legal aspects of organ donation, in addition to raising awareness around healthy living and prevention of disease in the community.

The conference is organised by the UAE National Committee for Donation and Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissue. The committee comprises national and local strategic partners including the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA). The conference is supported by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) as the destination partner, Abu Dhabi Media Company as a media partner and Etihad Airways as the travel partner for the conference.

Numerous panel sessions, presentations and lectures will examine topics such as the current situation of organ donation worldwide, the most prominent challenges faced by institutions, the challenges of chronic kidney failure and transplantation, parameters of brain death determination, relationship between organ transplantation and personalised medicine, the importance of follow-ups with transplant recipients, the importance of spreading awareness and building capabilities in organ donation and transplant domain as well as the experiences and challenges in corneal transplant. The conference will enable networking among stakeholders looking to collaborate on organ storage and donation. The conference will shed light on the importance of international collaboration in bridging the gap between organ availability and the need for transplantation, raising community awareness on organ donation and transplant and prevention of organ failure diseases, knowledge sharing on institutional experiences in the field, and the role of health insurance and charitable institutions in supporting organ donation and transplant.

The conference will host an art exhibition that includes artistic and literary works highlighting the history of organ donation locally and globally. The exhibition will feature award-winning artistic drawings and inspiring stories of young organ recipients and international and local artists.

‘Everyone can code’ campaign attracts more than 20,500 participants hours after launching

DUBAI, In line with the “UAE Codes” day celebrations, marked by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, The National Programme of Coders launched the “Everyone can code” Campaign aiming to involve society in taking the first step towards digital journey and participate actively in the biggest campaign to encourage people to code.

The “Everyone can code” Campaign attracted just hours after it launch, more than 20,500 participants who wrote a “line of code,” in 7 hours, reflecting the society’s willingness to try new advanced technology and ultimately attracting more people to be part of coding society.

The campaign focuses on empowering society in the UAE to write their first line of code regardless of their age, educational background, or current professional journey, through an online link activated to take users through the entire campaign and the idea of how to spread the knowledge of coding using simple, yet encouraging method.

Through the link, community members are encouraged to type in a code, which in turn enables them to explore Codrers HQ initiatives to learn or train in the many languages of coding, create exceptional opportunities to meet experts, and Coding Ambassadors, one of The National Programme of Coders initiatives.

Al Ahly secure Egypt’s Super Cup with easy 2-0 win in Abu Dhabi

AL AIN, In a postponed local Super Cup on Friday in Abu Dhabi, the Red Devils secured an easy 2-0 win against Zamalek as Bruno Savio scored once, and Marcel Koller won his first championship as coach.

Six minutes before half-time, Brazilian forward Savio earned Al Ahly the lead by taking advantage of a terrible error by Zamalek’s Zakaria El Wardi to curl the ball home from the edge of the box. Savio joined the Cairo Giant from Club Bolivar in Bolivia during the off-season.

The Reds secured the victory in the injury time when substitute Karim Fouad completed a superb team play with a straightforward tap-in at the far post.

With six of their 12 Super Cup victories coming at the cost of Zamalek, tonight’s win increased Al Ahly’s record to 12 victories.
