Parliament Speaker offers condolences to victims’ families stampede in Bab al-Yemen

Parliament Speaker, Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy to the victims’ families in the stampede incident at the aid distribution center for a merchant in Bab Al-Yemen in Amanat Al-Asimah.

In the cable of condolence, Al-Ra’i praised the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, to form a committee to investigate the incident, take the necessary measures, and urge the concerned authorities to carry out their duties in this regard.

Al-Ra’i held the aggression coalition countries, which are procrastinating in resolving the humanitarian file, including paying the civil salaries, military and retired state employees, responsible for what happened.

Parliament Speaker called on the international community and the United Nations to assume legal, moral and humanitarian responsibility for the continued neglect of the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

The Military Intelligence announced the arrest of three terrorist elements in Baghdad and Kirkuk.

It stated in a statement, that: “According to accurate intelligence information of the directorates of the Sixth, Eighth and Seventeenth Divisions of the Military Intelligence Directorate, and with the participation of the security forces, court ambushes were set up in separate areas of the two governorates, which resulted in the arrest of (3) terrorists wanted by the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of terrorism in the districts of Al-Meshahadah, Al-Latifiya, and the large village of Marata in Kirkuk.”

Al-Sudani dismisses the Commander of the Special Division and directs the closure of the detention center in the Karrada Maryam police station inside the Green Zone

The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, chaired today, Thursday, an important security meeting at the joint operations headquarters, in the presence of the Minister of Interior and senior security leaders.

During the meeting, according to a statement by Al-Sudani office, the overall security developments in the country were followed up.

The meeting also witnessed the discussion of the issue of the escape of the former Sunni Endowment head, Saad Kambash, who had been convicted. Following this incident and based on the report on the details of the escape, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces decided to dismiss the Commander of the Special Division, Lieutenant General Hamid Al-Zuhairi. This is due to the weakness of the procedures taken in this regard. He also directed that all defaulters be held accountable and legally punished, and that the performance of the security services be re-evaluated.

Al-Sudani directed the closure of the detention center at the Karrada Maryam police station inside the Green Zone, which witnessed the crime of escape, and the transfer of the convicts to the prisons of the Ministry of Justice, and the placement of the senior corrupt detainees in other detention centers like other wanted persons, and the abolition of any privacy in dealing with them as was usual, stressing :”The crime is one, it cannot be divided or classified according to position and influence.”

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces said that at a time when our security services are achieving great victories in various regions and military sectors, chasing and killing ISIS terrorists, pursuing drug dealers and smugglers, and attacking their hideouts, this major security breach occurs inside the Green Zone, as a result of a defect and negligence in the performance of duty or complicity, all of which we will not allow, by re-evaluating the level of security performance, and holding the accomplices legally accountable, whatever their position and position, as the rule of law is above all.”

In the context of the meeting, he instructed all security services to review the plans set for the blessed Eid Al-Fitr holiday, and to be on standby in order to provide a safe environment for the families celebrating the holiday, and to achieve smooth traffic in the streets.

Al-Sudani also stressed the need to review the approved plans in some areas that witness clan conflicts that threaten the security of citizens and disturb security in those areas.

They expressed the hope that this path will culminate in bringing points of view closer and finding a lasting and inclusive peaceful solution, in a way that ends the causes of the conflict, preserves Libya’s unity and stability, and restores peace and prosperity to its citizens.

The Libyan National Security Council announces its rejection of any projects affecting national security, especially immigration issues

The Libyan National Security Council stressed the need for all foreign organizations operating in Libya to complete their registration procedures in accordance with Libyan laws and legislation, announcing its rejection of any projects affecting issues related to national security.

The council said in a statement today, Thursday, that it followed the initiative launched by the Italian organization “Arabache” for peace in Libya, in partnership with the International Center for Advanced Agricultural Studies in the Mediterranean (Siam Pari), which it said aims to strengthen the agricultural sector and agricultural labor in the Fezzan and contribute to cohesion, social and integration of the local population and immigrant communities in the aforementioned region during their meeting with a number of mayors of the Libyan southern region in the Italian city of Bari.

The National Security Council welcomed all projects aimed at participating in the development of some local sectors in Libya, but warned against projects that affect issues related to national security and Libyan social peace, such as immigration and illegal immigrants, declaring its rejection of them.

The Council called on all Libyan institutions, ministries and sectors to unite the ranks and not to allow such projects to tamper with the capabilities of the Libyan people and prejudice their national security and not to accept any invitation to participate from any foreign countries or organizations, whether inside or outside Libya, except after obtaining the approval of the concerned authorities, especially Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
