Free Wet Berthing, Dry Parking for UAE Nationals in Al Dhafra Region

ABU DHABI, 5th May, 2023 (WAM) — Al Dhafra Region is set to experience a surge in boating and pleasure crafting as Abu Dhabi Maritime, part of AD Ports Group, and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), have united their efforts to provide free of charge wet berthing and dry parking in Al Dhafra Region for UAE nationals. The initiative is part of Abu Dhabi Maritime’s and DMT’s commitment to give back to Al Dhafra region and strengthen its maritime community by enhancing local employment opportunities and retaining local heritage and culture. To be eligible for the free boat parking, interested applicants must be UAE Nationals residing in Al Dhafra region and provide the necessary documentation, including Emirates ID, a valid boat licence, and proof of residency in the region. Application approval will allow residents access to dry and wet berths, regardless of the number of boats owned. To apply, residents must submit their documents at their relevant marina office which includes Sila, Delma, Al Marfa and Al Fiyay. In preparation for the launch of the new initiative, 696 berths will be immediately available, with a further 116 berths to be introduced at Jabel Dhanna, currently under construction. All types of privately registered boats, including fishing boats, leisure boats, and traditional dhows are eligible, excluding commercial vessels. Speaking about the initiative, Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of DMT, said, “In line with our leadership’s vision to support the prosperity of our local communities, we are delighted to launch this new initiative, which will support the maritime industry, whilst conserving the local identity and regional legacy. In addition, we hope that this initiative will contribute to increasing employment opportunities for residents within the region.” Capt. Dubai Police receives 27 diplomatic delegations at Arab Travel Market 2023

DUBAI, 5th May, 2023 (WAM) — Dubai Police welcomed 27 diplomatic delegations representing Arab and foreign countries at their stand during the Arab Travel Market (ATM) 2023. The delegates were eager to learn about Dubai Police’s services and contributions related to the tourism sector. Official delegations, consisting of consuls, ambassadors, and liaison officers, praised the services showcased at the stand, reaffirming the distinguished reputation of Dubai Police’s security and innovative technical services. Brigadier Khalfan Obaid Al Jallaf, Director of the Tourism Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, stated that the stand experienced significant public interest from exhibition visitors, who were keen to get acquainted with Dubai Police’s services, view demonstrations and activities, and join educational and awareness workshops related to the tourism police services. Diplomatic delegations from Arab and foreign countries, including Albania, the Australian Federal Police, Rwanda, the Philippines, the United States of America, Japan, Serbia, the Italian Ministry of Defence, Belgium, and Ireland, among others, visited Dubai Police stand. Dubai Police stand featured key services namely: the Tourism Police Service, Sail Safely Service, Dubai Police Museum, Esaad privilege Card, Resilience Centre, Inmates Products, Hatta’s Braves Team, Lost and Found Service, the Dubai Police smart app with its community, criminal, and traffic services, the ‘Asass’ unit, bicycle patrols, and the luxury security patrols.

Dubai Police ‘Esaad’ Card Centre announces cooperation agreements

DUBAI, 5th May, 2023 (WAM) — The Esaad Card Centre at Dubai Police has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Office of the Rulers’ Representative in Al Dhafra and the Public Resources Authority of Ras Al Khaimah during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 1st to 4th May. Under the agreements, employees of both organisations will join the Esaad privilege programme launched by Dubai Police, which consolidates and centralises various offers, discounts, and benefits provided by companies and commercial institutions operating in the UAE and around the world. On behalf of Dubai Police, Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs, signed the MoU with Rashid Mohammed Al Mansouri, Acting Executive Director of the Support Services Department at the Office of the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra. The signing ceremony was attended by Mona Al Ameri, Director of the Esaad Card Centre, along with several officers and employees from both parties. The second MoU was signed by Major General Saif Mohammed bin Abed, Director of the General Department of Finance at Dubai Police, and Yousuf Hussein Al Khayyat, Head of the Resources and Support Services Department. Mona Al Ameri and representatives from both organisations were also present at the signing ceremony. Kuwait crude oil price falls to US$75.20 pb

KUWAIT, 5th May, 2023 (WAM) — The Kuwaiti oil price dropped by 80 cents to US$75.20 pb on Thursday against US$76 pb on Wednesday, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced on Friday. According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), at international markets, forward Brent crude contracts rose by 17 cents to $72.50 pb, while the West Texas Intermediate crude dropped by four cents to $68.56 a barrel. Saudi Foreign Minister, US Counterpart Discuss Developments in Sudan

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah discussed and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed, during a phone call on Friday, bilateral relations and latest developments in the Republic of Sudan, reported Saudi press agency (SPA).

During the call they stressed the importance of stopping the military escalation between the conflicting parties and ending the violence. They also reviewed the developments of the Saudi-American initiative to host representatives of the two parties in the city of Jeddah, which aims to prepare the necessary ground for dialogue to reduce the level of tensions there, in order to ensure the security and stability of Sudan and its people.

The two sides also discussed a number of issues of common concern.

Upon HH the Amir’s Directives .. Assistance Air Bridge from Qatar to Sudan

In implementation of the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, a Qatari aircraft carrying 40 tons of food aid provided by Qatar Charity arrived at Port Sudan Airport in the sisterly Republic of the Sudan. The Aircraft is the first of an air bridge drafted by the State of Qatar to assist those affected by the fighting in Sudan.

The Qatari air bridge also includes developmental, food and medical aid in addition to a field hospital, provided by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS).

This aid comes within the framework of the State of Qatar’s assistance for the brotherly Sudanese people, and its full support for their steadfastness in the face of the difficult conditions they are currently living through due to the ongoing fighting.
