PM discusses with Health Minister achievement level in Ministry’s plan

The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, discussed today, Tuesday, with the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, the level of achievement of the Ministry and its affiliated health authorities for their annual plan for the year 1444 AH.

Minister Al-Mutawakel explained that the ministry has implemented most of the projects, programs and tasks included in its annual plan for the current year, with a focus on health and treatment priorities in serving the citizen, harnessing energies and employing all available resources for the benefit of stabilizing medical services in hospitals and health centers.

He pointed out that the ministry seeks, through its action plan, to enhance the level of general activity for the level of health services, and to pay special attention to remote areas and the countryside.

Al-Mutawakel presented a brief report to the Prime Minister on the results of his visit to Hodeida province.

Bin Habtoor praised the efforts of the Ministry and all medical,health staff in all hospitals, clinics, and public , private centers in serving citizens and alleviating their pain.

He appreciated the efforts of the Ministry’s leadership in managing health and medical work at various levels.

The President of the Presidential Council meets with the Italian Ambassador to Libya on the occasion of the end of his tenure in Libya.

The President of the Presidential Council, “Mohamed Al-Manfi”, met today, Tuesday, with the Italian Ambassador to Libya, “Giuseppe Buccino”, due to the end of his tenure in Libya.

During the meeting, the Italian ambassador to Libya conveyed the greetings of the Italian President, Sergio Mattarella, to Al-Manfi, praising the important role played by the Presidential Council in achieving peace and stability in the various regions of Libya after its cease-fire and the unification of state institutions.

In turn, Al-Manfi praised the role of the Italian ambassador, especially during his stay in Libya in recent years, despite all the circumstances the country went through in terms of successive crises, expressing his appreciation to the Republic of Italy as president, government and people.

The Libyan Foreign Ministry condemns the Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip and holds the international community responsible for stopping the aggression

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Libya condemned the renewed aggression of the Israeli occupation forces on the Palestinian territories, the latest of which was the air raids that targeted the Gaza Strip this morning, which led to the death of more than ten Palestinian citizens and the wounding of dozens of women and children.

In a statement, the ministry expressed its full solidarity with the Palestinian people as a result of the violations they are subjected to, blaming the Israeli occupation forces for the escalation and destabilization of the situation in the region and for continuing to undermine efforts to establish peace.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the Security Council and the international community to assume its responsibilities in stopping the repeated Israeli aggression, protecting the Palestinian people, and reaching an agreement that ends the state of conflict and enhances stability in the region in accordance with international laws and United Nations charters.

Al-Dabaiba and Shakshak agree to activate the public bid to correct the conditions of the health sector

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity discussed, with the head of the Audit Bureau, “Khaled Shakshak”, on Tuesday, in Tripoli, the two files of government spending and ensuring transparency and fairness of distribution.

This came during the meeting held at the Audit Bureau headquarters, in the presence of the Bureau’s Undersecretary, Alaa Al-Masallati, and the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Adel Jumaa.

The meeting focused on discussing mechanisms for activating the public bid for medicines and medical supplies, implementing the new schools project and supporting the General Electricity Company, with the aim of stabilizing the network, increasing production and facing the summer peak.

The two sides agreed to hold a meeting with the Ministry of Health, the Medical Supply Authority and the Ministry of Finance, to start implementing the public bid, which has been delayed since 2009, as a step to correct the conditions of the health sector in Libya.

The two sides also agreed on the need to qualify national companies capable of implementing the project to establish new schools, and stressed the need for integration between the state’s executive and oversight institutions, to ensure the provision of good services to citizens and reduce corruption, and to promote the principle of disclosure and transparency in all procedures.
