Shura Council discusses number of reports

The Chairmanship of Shura Council on Monday held a meeting, headed by the Council’s Speaker, Mohammed sl-Aidarous.

The meeting discussed the level of implementation of the costs issued by its previous meeting and took the appropriate decisions and reviewed the topics included in the agenda.

The meeting also reviewed the plan and field program for a number of members of the Shura Council to 14 districts and submitted by the community committee within the framework of implementing the field visit program approved in the council’s plan for the year 1444 AH, which aims to strengthen the societal role of the Shura Council, in parallel with the implementation of the tasks assigned to the council within the national resilience program.

The meeting emphasized the importance of raising the pace of field and community action in line with the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council, keeping abreast of developments in the field, and enhancing factors of stability and steadfastness among the people of society.

It noted the importance of concerted efforts, cooperation and coordination with the local authority in the provinces and districts in order to achieve the positive results associated with the National Resilience Program.

The meeting listened to the presentation of the Vice-Chairman of the Community Committee, Eng. Lutf al-Jarmozi, on the executive steps of the program and the general tasks of the field visit at the district and neighborhood levels, according to the outputs of the consultative meeting of the Parliament and the Shura Council with the National Resilience Program.

Al-Jarmozi indicated that the program aims to keep pace with the implementation of the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council related to the national steadfastness program, and the implementation of the council’s activity plan and the community committee aimed at strengthening the role of the community Shura Council related to the national steadfastness program.

The meeting reviewed the preparatory procedures related to the workshop for the work team of the members of the Council implementing the field visit, with the aim of introducing them to the nature of the tasks and activities to be implemented at the level of the targeted directorates in a number of governorates of the Republic.

It approved the field visit program and the assignment of members according to the submitted lists, and approved the training workshop program.

The meeting also reviewed a draft report of the Council’s Local Authority and Services Committee on the service situation of the water sector.

Sa’ada governor inspects summer activities courses in Ghamer district

Sa’ada governor Mohammed Awad and a member of Shura Council, Abbas Muqeet, on Monday inspected activities, summer courses, and the conduct of high school exams in the border district of Ghamer.

Awad and Muqeet, along with the Commander of the Border Guard Forces, listened to an explanation from the officials of the summer centers about the progress of the daily programs of the summer activities and the extent of interest in the students and the level of their response, benefit and interaction with the overall activities of the summer centers.

Awad stressed the importance of seizing the educational opportunity in the summer courses to teach the Qur’an and the Qur’anic culture, and to preserve the lessons and keep up with the attendance on an ongoing basis.

Meanwhile, Sa’ada governor inspected the progress of the exams at the examination center in al-Salam Secondary School, stressing the importance of creating the appropriate atmosphere for students to enable them to perform their exams easily.

SASO Governor Meets with Ambassador of Thailand to Saudi Arabia

Governor of Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organisation (SASO) Dr. Saad bin Othman Alkasabi has received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Saudi Arabia Darm Boontham.

The two sides discussed ways of enhancing and developing cooperation in areas related to standards, metrology and quality, to contribute to further economic growth and boost competitiveness and trade exchange between the two countries.

The ambassador of Thailand expressed appreciation to SASO governor for the warm reception and hospitality.

The meeting is part of the efforts exerted to enhance joint cooperation in relevant fields.

Oman, Libya FMs Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi held Monday a session of talks with Libyan Foreign Minister Najla El Mangoush, who is visiting Muscat.

During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

Also, they exchanged views on developments of regional and international issues of common concern. They stressed the importance of adopting means of dialogue and peaceful and diplomatic solutions to address issues and crises to achieve security, stability and prosperity for all countries and peoples.

Al-Raedh discusses with the Greek ambassador economic cooperation and lifting the ban on Libyan flights.

The President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, “Mohammed Al-Raidh”, discussed today, Monday, with the Greek Ambassador to Libya, “Ioannis Stamatikos”, strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce on its Facebook page, the meeting dealt with strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, raising the rates of trade exchange, and establishing joint economic forums.

Al-Raedh, according to the source, renewed his call to Greece and European countries in general to lift the ban on Libyan flights, to speed up the return of companies, and to facilitate procedures for the movement of Libyan businessmen.

Italy vows to continue supporting Ukraine

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani affirmed on Monday Rome would continue to provide military support to Ukraine and stressed that there could be neither negotiations nor a truce before withdrawal of the Russian forces from the country.

Tajani, in an interview excerpts of which were published by the Italian Foreign ministry, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski, during his European tour, won an affirmation of the European nations and NATO’s commitment to stand on Ukraine’s side.

Forecasting that the war would continue throughout 2023, Tajani said it would be quite hard to achieve peace as long as Russia pursues its “hostile” acts.

A truce can only be worked out if the Russians withdraw, Tajani said.
