Kuwait sends 9th relief aid plane to Sudan

Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced on Thursday that the ninth relief aid plane carrying 10 tons of relief aid has departed Kuwait on its way to Sudan.

KRCS’s head of public relations and media Khaled Al-Zaid told KUNA that the relief aid campaign would maintain the air bridge between Kuwait and Sudan and would continue to ensure the arrival of much needed materials He added that the campaign would hopefully lessen the suffering of the Sudanese people and help them during their ordeal.

He noted that KRCS, in cooperation with the Kuwaiti government, has sent 90 tons of relief aid to Sudan since the beginning of the campaign.

The Kuwaiti government, under the directives of the leadership, kick-started a relief aid campaign to help Sudanese people as part of Kuwait’s commitment towards this urgent humanitarian issue.

Hundreds of Israeli settlers break into Al-Aqsa Mosque under police protection

Hundreds of Israeli settlers broke into Al-Aqsa mosque hours before the (Flag March) under heavy security by Israeli police in the memory of the so-called (Uniting Jerusalem).

About 500 settlers broke in Al-Aqsa mosque, led by an Israeli minister, the Public Relations and Media Circle in Jerusalem said on Thursday.

On his part, Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh denounced the so-called (Flag March) that extremists intend to organize and described it as “Absurd and provocative.” “The (Flag March) does not give the occupation any legitimacy, and it is one of the absurd policies and repressive practices of the occupation government,” he said. “The occupation cannot change the features of the Holy City, with its stationed Jerusalemites and its Islamic and Christian sanctities,” he stressed.

“The Palestinian people have made and are still making great sacrifices for the Arab and Islamic nations in defending the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem,” and will continue to confront the occupation’s policies and practices, no matter how big the sacrifices are,” he added.

First ever European Media Industry Outlook published

The European Commission, Thursday, published the first ever European Media Industry Outlook, which analyses trends in the audiovisual, video game and news media industries in Europe.

The report provides market data and identifies challenges and underlying technological trends common to the media industries.

Media use is gradually shifting online as a result of the development of digital platforms, usage of new devices and new consumer preferences, says the report.

There are 200,000 companies in the EU media industry and 1 million jobs related to audiovisual, gaming and news.

The news media sector has 4,000 TV companies, 34,000 press companies and 5,000 radio companies.

Revenues in 2021 for press and digital media (excluding broadcast) is estimated to be 19.8 billion euro (USD 21.4 billion).

According to the report, growth is mostly driven by segments such as video on demand (VoD) or mobile gaming.

The report also highlights the relevance of strategic assets such as intellectual property rights (IP) for media companies and how acquisition and exploitation of these rights can help increase revenues, invest or remain independent.
