Egyptian President Leaves Jeddah

The President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, left Jeddah today after participating in the Arab League Council meeting at the 32nd Arab Summit.

At King Abdulaziz International Airport, he was seen off by the Saudi Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Osama bin Ahmed Naqli.

Saudi Vice President of Olympic and Paralympic Games Meets President of 2026 Winter Games

Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, the Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), met on Thursday with the CEO of the Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee for Winter Games, Andrea Varnier, in Milan, Italy.

During the meeting, the prince was briefed on the great efforts made by the Organizing Committee for the Winter Games to provide high-quality logistic services to the delegations’ departments and answer their inquiries to ensure the success of the winter session before its early start.

Meanwhile, the SOPC work team visited the facilities and halls that will host the 2026 Olympics.

The meeting was attended by Princess Dalil Bint Nahar bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the CEO of the Asian Games (Riyadh 2034); the CEO and Secretary General of the SOPC Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Baeshen; and Managing Director of Sport at NEOM Jan Paterson.

Italy will host the Winter Olympics for the third time, from February 6 to 22, 2026, to be held in 14 facilities in Cortina and Milan. About 3,500 athletes from 93 countries are expected to participate.

The Italian Olympiad Organizing Committee announced the tournament slogan “The Future,” which won the highest percentage of electronic votes (74% out of 871,000 votes from 169 countries).

GCC Secretary General Visits Media Oasis Exhibition at 32nd Arab Summit

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, visited on Thursday the Wahat Al-E’lam (Media Oasis) exhibition, which accompanied the 32nd Arab Summit.

Al-Budaiwi toured the exhibition, listening to an explanation of the introductory contents, which shed light on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts in various fields, such as economic diversification.

The exhibition tells the Kingdom’s features and capabilities in the projects represented by the Royal Commission in AlUla, The Line, Sindala Island, the Xagon project, the Trojena Mountains, and the Red Sea Company project. The projects simulate unique and modern architectural designs of building a knowledge economy to embrace competencies, scientific minds, and skills from various fields to serve humanity and contribute to using renewable energy to preserve the environment and promote sustainable practices at all levels.

Nigerian Siamese Twins Hassana and Hasina Successfully Separated After 14-hour Surgery

Implementing the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown Prince, the specialized surgical team managed to separate the Nigerian Siamese twins, Hassana and Hasina, who were attached at the lower chest and abdomen and shared the liver, bile ducts, and intestines, after a complex surgery that lasted over 14 hours and was conducted in eight phases, with the participation of a 36-member team of surgeons and 85 members of the multidisciplinary medical team.

Advisor at the Royal Court, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), and head of the medical and surgical team in the separation of Siamese twins, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, explained that this operation comes under the generous directives of the Saudi leadership, becoming the 56th of the Saudi program for the separation of conjoined twins.

He added that the Saudi program was able, during the past 33 years, to operate on 130 Siamese twins from 23 brotherly and friendly countries, stressing the Kingdom’s pioneering role in humanitarian work in general and the medical profession in particular.

Dr. Al-Rabeeah thanked the medical team that performed the surgery for their efforts, stressing that the achievement reflects the wise leadership’s keenness to help people wherever they are. He added that it also reflects Saudi medical excellence, which aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop the health sector in the Kingdom and advance its quality and efficiency.

He also extended, in his name and on behalf of his fellow members of the medical team, the appreciation and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown Prince for the generous support received by the Saudi program for the separation of conjoined twins.

Yahya Lawal, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, appreciated the unlimited humanitarian support and efforts provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. HRH the Crown Prince praised the efforts of the medical team led by Dr. Al-Rabeeah and expressed his great happiness for the successful separation surgery of the Nigerian twins Hassana and Hasina.

The twins’ parents extended their thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince for the outstanding medical team’s operation to separate their twins and provide them with the necessary treatment, praising the Kingdom’s great humanitarian work, and the Saudi warm reception and hospitality they have received throughout their stay in the Kingdom.

Tabuk – NEOM 2023 Rally Kicks off in its First Edition

Under the patronage of Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Tabuk Region, Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdullah bin Faisal, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) and the Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Motorsports Company, launched today at King Khalid Sports City in Tabuk the start of the Tabuk-NEOM Rally in its first edition. The rally represents the second round of the 2023 Saudi Toyota Desert Rally Championship, organized by SAMF.

Prince Khalid bin Sultan delivered a speech during the ceremony held on this occasion, noting the outstanding achievements made during the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in various fields, including sports, as well as the support of the governor of Tabuk to organize rally activities. The Undersecretary of Tabuk Region for Security Affairs, Ahmed bin Mabrouk Al-Hujaili, and several representatives of various government sectors in the region attended the ceremony.

After that, the show stage began, in which 23 cars, 12 motorcycles, and three four-wheeled “Quad” motorcycles participated after passing the technical examination and administrative documentation. The participants passed through a unique show stage in preparation for the actual stages the next day, according to the course and objectives of the race, which is 3.52 kilometers long.

Notably, the Tabuk-NEOM Rally is being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and with the official sponsor, Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, and the strategic sponsor, Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB).

Ministry of Agriculture seized 12.5 tons of smuggled foreign apples

The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, in cooperation with the security services Today, seized 12.5 tons of smuggled foreign apples, in one of the commercial central refrigerators in Al-Nahda district in Sana,a.

An official source in the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the necessary measures have been taken regarding the seized shipment, which is equivalent to 799 cartons of apples.

The source pointed out that the competent authorities in the ministry did not issue any permit to import foreign apples, and that the entry of quantities before the start of the local apple season was illegal and comes within the framework of systematic targeting of local products.

The source called on importers to abide by the laws and regulations governing the import process and not to smuggle foreign products because of their damage to the national economy.
