Al-Menfi: “We aspire to a broader and clearer role for the Arab League in Libya.

The president of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, stressed his country’s support for achieving Arab solidarity, bridging the rift, and rejecting differences between Arab countries.

Al-Menfi said in his remark during the 32nd Arab Summit, “We aspire to a broader and clearer role for the Arab League by supporting the efforts and role of the African Union and the UN in achieving comprehensive national reconciliation and achieving parliamentary and presidential elections during 2023.”

Al-Munfi highlighted that the council continues to supervise, in coordination with the UNSMIL, the work of the “5 + 5” committee to unify the military institution, as part of its efforts to consolidate stability and security in the country.

Al-Menfi reiterated the Council’s support for the serious endeavors that were taken in cooperation and coordination with local parties and the Un mission to support the steps of the Parliament and the High Council of State through the 6+6 Committee, which the two councils entrusted with agreeing on electoral laws.

On the other hand, Al-Menfi commended the efforts of Saudi Arabia in Arab reunification, which led to the holding of this summit with all its members, and appreciated the Kingdom’s role in reaching a comprehensive solution in Yemen that ends the crisis by agreement between the legitimate government and the Houthis.

He also expressed Libya’s readiness to engage in efforts to resolve the Sudanese crisis, which would lead to an end to the fighting between brothers and preserve stability in our region.

Putin renews his country’s support for peaceful solutions to the crises in Libya, Yemen, Sudan, and Syria.

Russian President “Vladimir Putin affirmed his country’s interest in developing friendly relations with Arab countries in order to effectively confront modern threats and challenges.

In a telegram sent to the participants in the Arab summit held yesterday in Jeddah, Putin indicated that his country supports peaceful solutions to the crises in Sudan, Yemen, Libya, and Syria, with unwavering respect for state sovereignty and the existing provisions of international law.

“Russia traditionally attaches great importance to developing friendly relations and constructive partnership cooperation with the countries of the Middle East and North Africa, including within the framework of dialogue with the League of Arab States, in order to respond effectively to the threats and challenges facing modern humanity.” Putin added.

He explained that his country will continue to provide all possible assistance to settle the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the approaches stipulated in the relevant UN resolutions, as well as the Arab Peace Initiative, whose owner, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is hosting the current summit of the League of Arab States.

Putin considered that continuing to expand multifaceted cooperation between Russia and the Arab countries, fully meets the country’s common interests, as it is in line with building a more just and democratic system of international relations, based on the principles of multipolarity, true equality, and respect for the legitimate interests of all.

Al-Manqoush: We look forward to the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council to end the transitional stages in Libya.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla Al-Manqoush, expressed Libya’s aspiration for the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the direction of the Libyan people to end the transitional stages and hold elections.

This came during her meeting with the Secretary-General of the GCC, Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, on the sidelines of the 32nd Arab Summit of the League of Arab States held in Jeddah, according to the communication office of the Ministry.

Al-Manqoush commended the Gulf’s position and the Saudi initiative to open dialogue with Iran, noting that the Government of National Unity welcomed this step to enhance stability in the region.

The Minister dealt with the most prominent files that she discussed during her official tour to a number of Arab Gulf countries, which preceded the Arab summit. Referring to the directives of the Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabiba, to give importance to the Gulf role in supporting the stability of Libya.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Manqoush invited Al-Budaiwi to visit Libya, within the framework of strengthening brotherly ties and signing cooperation agreements in a number of areas.

The German Ambassador to Libya, “Michael Unmacht,” affirmed that economic development is an important factor for achieving stability.

Unmacht said in a tweet posted on his Twitter account, that his country is dedicating its efforts, through the Berlin process, to developing the economic situation in Libya, by deepening relations and increasing trade dealings between the two countries.

The German ambassador stated that his deputy, “Inka Engels,” met with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Libyan Business Owners Council, which dealt with the development of economic and commercial cooperation relations between the two countries.
