Headquarters favorited by candidates to directly communicate with voters

Despite the active role of social media that provides services in promoting election campaigns, headquarters still appeal to the attention of voters of all ages and are their favorite places as a meeting spot for direct communication with candidates.

While some candidates in the 2023 Kuwaiti National Assembly elections announced that they would not set up campaigns at headquarters and go with social media, others still prefer direct communication with voters to present their programs and goals.

Canada’s ambassador confirms during her meeting with (Batili) her country’s support for the UN envoy to reach an agreement between the Libyan parties.

Canada’s Ambassador to Libya, “Isabelle Savred,” affirmed her country’s support for the efforts of the UN envoy, “Abdullah Batili” to facilitate reaching an agreement between the various Libyan parties, for the benefit of all Libyans.

This came in a tweet posted by the ambassador on Twitter after her meeting yesterday with the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to discuss developments in the political process in Libya.

Al-Mangoush briefed the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government on the results of its official tour to a number of Arab countries.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Naglaa Al-Mangoush, affirmed that there is an Arab consensus on the importance of holding national elections in Libya.

This came during her meeting with the Prime Minister, “Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba,” today, Tuesday, at the Prime Minister’s Office, after her return from her official tour to a number of Arab countries, to mobilize Arab support to end the transitional stages in Libya and support holding elections, in addition to coordinating joint Arab efforts and positions towards the challenges in the Arab world.

Al-Mangoush briefed the Prime Minister on the positions of the governments of the countries she visited, pointing to the importance of maintaining a unified Arab position towards supporting holding elections and ending all transitional stages in the country.

The minister also followed up with “Al-Dabaiba” the developments of Arab and international efforts aimed at reaching a permanent cease-fire in Sudan. During the meeting, the prime minister expressed his appreciation for the Saudi role in leading the peace talks between the brothers in Sudan.

During the meeting, they also discussed government measures implemented by the Ministry to organize diplomatic work abroad and ways to overcome all difficulties facing Libyan citizens abroad, facilitate all procedures for them, and work to continue strengthening relations and bonds of friendship and joint cooperation between Libya and brotherly and friendly countries in all fields.

Foreign Minister Naglaa Al-Mangoush conveyed to the President of the Government of National Unity the pledges of a number of Gulf countries to begin work to open their embassies in the capital, Tripoli.

Al-Koni, during his meeting with the Canadian ambassador, affirms the Presidential Council’s keenness to hold elections.

The Representative of the Presidential Council, “Musa Al-Koni”, received today, Tuesday, in the Council’s office in Tripoli, the Canadian Ambassador to Libya, “Isabelle Savred”.

The Presidential Council stated that the ambassador affirmed her country’s continued support for the efforts of the Presidential Council, which seeks to stabilize Libya, with the success of the national reconciliation file, and the holding of elections according to a constitutional rule, with the results of which all parties are satisfied.

For his part, “Al-Koni” affirmed the Presidency Council’s keenness to hold the elections and the success of the national reconciliation file, stressing that Canada will have a prominent role in the stability of Libya in cooperation with countries interested in the Libyan issue.

During the meeting, which was held at the Council’s office in Tripoli, they reviewed aspects of cooperation between Libya and Canada in many fields, the difficulties facing the political process, and the international and local efforts that seek to achieve stability in Libya.

Indonesian, Iranian Presidents Discuss Boosting Cooperation

Indonesian President Joko Widodo met Tuesday with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi, who is visiting Jakarta.

During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries, in addition to discussing the latest developments at the global level.

Following the meeting, officials of the two countries signed 11 documents and cooperation memoranda, including preferential trade agreement, visa cancelation, promoting cultural exchange and cooperation in the areas of sciences and technology in oil and gas, along with other fields.

The three-day visit by Iranian president will include meetings with merchants and businessmen from the two countries, which is the first official visit of an Iranian president to Indonesia in 17 years. (QNA)

Qatar Economic Forum/ Iraq Minister of Oil to QNA: Qatar Interested in Developing Iraqi Energy Projects

HE Minister of Oil of the Republic of Iraq Oil Minister Hayan Abdel Ghani confirmed today the State of Qatar’s interest in participating in obtaining rights for oil and gas exploration in his country, which were announced today at Qatar Economic Forum.

His Excellency told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the forum was an opportunity to announce a number of energy projects that Iraq wants to develop in the coming period, especially the fifth and sixth round that include 19 blocks in the Western side in the country.

His Excellency said that he discussed activating a number of projects in Iraq with HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, calling on international companies to participate in these rounds, given the role these investments play in generating electricity and securing financial resources to Iraq.

Qatar Energy had agreed to own a 25 percent stake in the Gas Growth Integrated Project in Iraq (GGAT), which aims to develop natural gas resources in the country. The project’s coalition is 30 percent owned by Basra Oil Company, with 45 percent owned by TotalEnergies, and QatarEnergy with 25 percent. This was achieved after wrapping up all contractual requirements and obtaining regulatory approvals. (QNA)
