Lower House condemns burning copy of Holy Quran in Sweden

The Lower House of Parliament on Thursday voiced its rejection and condemnation of burning a copy of the Holy Quran by extremists in Sweden following the Swedish authorities approval of this cowardly act, which can only be described as organized terrorism that coincided with the first day of Eid Al-Adha. “This cowardly act provokes the feelings of Muslims around the world, and constitutes a racist abuse and hate that is unacceptable to Muslims and to the great Qur’an, which urges the values of love, tolerance and mercy,” the Lower House said Thursday in a statement. “Muslims will not accept insulting the Holy Quran in any way, and we warn against the consequences of this act in various parts of the world, and we call on our brothers in Arab and international parliaments and our friends in international parliaments to take stances rejecting those provocative acts that would destabilize security and stability and flagrantly contradicts human, moral and religious values and principles,” the statement added. “This cowardly act constitutes an offense to religions and beliefs, and the international community and its active forces must deal firmly with these dangerous behaviors, as they are extremist acts that are no less terrorist than other terrorist practices, and we do not accept in any way this persistence and abuse of the Holy Quran under the pretexts of freedom of opinion and expression,” the statement concluded.

JAF delegation visits Jordanian field hospital Gaza 75

A military delegation from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) – the Arab Army on Thursday visited the Jordanian field hospital, Gaza / 75, and was received by the Force Commander, Colonel Yahya Eneizat. The delegation, headed by Director of Military Education and Culture, Brigadier General Sufyan Sleihat, was briefed by Eneizat on the hospital’s workflow, tasks and duties, as well as medical, therapeutic and humanitarian services it provides to all members of society, in light of the current exceptional circumstances in the besieged strip. Sleihat met the hospital staff and conveyed to them the greetings, appreciation and blessing of His Majesty, JAf Supreme Commander, King Abdullah, and the General Command on the occasion of the holy Eid Al-Adha, and for their distinguished efforts in performing their noble medical and therapeutic mission and their active role in achieving the desired goals on the Gaza strip. The Jordanian field hospital in Gaza has been operating, under royal directives, around the clock since 2009, as part of a series of Jordanian military field hospitals in many countries of the world, with a number of patients reaching nearly 3 million so far.

Shooting near US consulate in Jeddah leaves two dead

Two people were killed Wednesday evening in a shooting near the US Consulate in Jeddah, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. “A person in a car stopped near the American consulate building in Jeddah Governorate and got out of it carrying a firearm in his hand, so security authorities took the initiative to deal with him as required and the exchange of fire resulted in his death,” the SPA cited a spokesperson for the Mecca Region police as saying. A Nepalese worker in the consulate’s security guards died of his injury during the shooting, according to the SPA. It said that investigations continue into the attack.

Electricity Minister inspects work progress at Hazeez, Sana’a stations & National Control Center

The Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, inspected the progress of work at Heziz central station, the National Control Center, and the Sana’a power station.

During the visit, the Minister of Electricity conveyed to the alternates at the station Eid congratulations, and listened to a detailed explanation from the Deputy Director General of the Haziz Station and the Director of Operation and Maintenance at the Dhahban Station, the National Control Center and the Deputy Director General of the Sana’a Generating Station – Al-Qaa, the Deputy Director of the Station and the Sub-Control Officer at the Sana’a Station the work and performance of the stations, the obstacles facing raising their generating capacities, and the ways to cope with the increasing pressure on energy.

Electricity Minister praised the efforts of the shift crews at the station, stressing the need for their interest in periodic maintenance work in accordance with the specified dates, the provision of spare parts to ensure that the station does not stop, and the submission of daily reports on that.

He pointed out that the Ministry and the Electricity Corporation will work to improve the conditions of field cadres, on whom it is reliable to work with all sincerity and dedication to improve the current service and raise the capacity of electric power.

Tourism Minister congratulates revolution leader & President Al-Mashat on Eid al-Adha

The Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Hassan Al-Amir, sent a telegram of congratulations to the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, the President of the Supreme Political Council, His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, and the members of the Council on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

In his congratulatory cable, Minister Al-Amir indicated that this great religious occasion coincided with the achievements that Yemen has achieved in light of the orientations of the national will in the fields of honor, heroism, steadfastness and sacrifice in defense of the homeland and its sovereignty.

He stressed the need to unite the Arab and Islamic position against the abusive actions of the nation and its sanctities, as well as supporting the Palestinian resistance and condemning the crimes of the Zionist enemy in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Shura Council Vice-President inspects Almoravids’ conditions in Kamaran Island

The Vice-President of the Shura Council – Head of the Tribal Cohesion Council, Dhaifallah Rassam, inspected Almoravids’ conditions in Kamran Island Directorate in Al-Hodeida province.

During the visit, Rassam, along with the sub-chairman of the tribal cohesion in the capital Sana’a, Naji al-Salami and Hodeida, Rajeh Zalil, and a number of cohesion leaders, sheikhs and social figures, conveyed the congratulations of the revolution leader and the head of the Supreme Political Council to the stationed in the island on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

He called on the concerned authorities to play their role in addressing and providing urgent humanitarian services.

For their part, Almoravids and the people of the Directorate expressed their appreciation for these visits, stressing their readiness and vigilance to defend the country, its sovereignty, security and stability.
