ADAFSA organises various events, competitions at Sheikh Zayed Festival 2023

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) is participating in the Zayed Heritage Festival 2023, held in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, from 17th November 2023 to 9th March 2024, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ADAFSA.

ADAFSA has been a strategic partner of the festival since its inception.

This year, the Authority’s participation features a special pavilion for the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award, which includes a variety of events that will continue throughout the festival in an interactive and competitive atmosphere for participants and the public. These events include 9 festivals, 21 competitions and the organisation of 11 livestock auctions. Valuable prizes and gifts await the participants and the public.

ADAFSA organises many events that support the agricultural sustainability strategy in its plant and animal sect

Cultural and entertainment events will also be organised to help visitors learn about agriculture in an interactive and interesting way. A children’s area has been designed to include special events for this category, with educational workshops on home gardening, modern agriculture and many competitions and prizes. Other events at the Oasis include a bee exhibition and a farmers’ market, where fresh local produce such as vegetables, fruit and local honey will be on display and for sale.

Badr Al Shehhi, Director of the Communication and Community Engagement Division, said that, since the first edition, ADAFSA has been working as a strategic partner with the Agricultural Oasis Pavilion, under the direct guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to highlight the main features of the Festival, and mil
estones in the development of agricultural life, for which the UAE Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, laid the foundations by supporting farmers and farming activities in the UAE.

He noted that the Authority has made sure this year to allocate an area to raise awareness of food loss and waste in order to raise the level of awareness among members of society leading to sustainability and food security.
