Arab Meeting to Continue Studying Draft Arab Convention on Personal Data Protection

Cairo: The second meeting of the joint committee of experts and representatives from the ministries of justice, interior, and relevant bodies in Arab countries commenced today at the Arab League to continue studying the draft Arab Convention on Personal Data Protection, chaired by Algeria.

The Kingdom was represented at the meeting by a delegation from the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, headed by Nouf Al-Anzi, legal advisor.

Minister Plenipotentiary and Director of the Legal Affairs Department at the Arab League Dr. Maha Bakhit said that the two-day meeting would discuss the draft articles of the “Arab Convention on Personal Data Protection” to reach a consensus on its wording and prepare necessary recommendations prior to referring them to the executive offices of the councils of the Arab ministers of justice and interior for appropriate action.
