Miami International Holdings Reports October 2021 Trading Results; MIAX Pearl Equities Sets Market Share and Volume Records; SPIKES Futures Volume Reaches Record Levels

PRINCETON, N.J., Nov. 4, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Miami International Holdings, Inc. today reported October 2021 trading results for its U.S. exchange subsidiaries – MIAX®, MIAX Pearl® and MIAX Emerald® (together, the MIAX Exchange Group™) and Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX).

Total U.S. multi-listed options market share for the MIAX Exchange Group reached 14.32% in October 2021, 205 basis points higher than the 12.26% market share in October 2020 and representing a 16.8% increase.

The MIAX Exchange Group collectively executed 111.3 million multi-listed options contracts in October 2021, representing an average daily volume (ADV) of 5,299,758 contracts.

In U.S. equities, MIAX Pearl Equities™ executed 1,428,762,583 shares in October 2021, a monthly volume record and an increase of 3.6% from September 2021. The October 2021 total also represented a market share record of 0.65%.

In U.S. futures, MGEX executed 436,947 contracts in October 2021, the second highest monthly total volume on record and representing an increase of 62.7% from the October 2020 total. Total volume during the January to October 2021 period reached a record 3,237,128 contracts, a 41.1% increase from the same period in 2020, while open interest totaled 96,196 contracts on October 31, 2021, an increase of 21.4% from the October 31, 2020 total.

SPIKES® Futures volume totaled a record 250,982 contracts in October 2021, up 59.3% from the 157,538 contract total in September 2021. SPIKES Futures volume reached a record ADV of 11,952 contracts in October 2021. In addition, SPIKES Futures volume on October 22, 2021 totaled a new daily record volume of 22,872 contracts.

‫فعالية الأرتيميسينين والبيبيراكوين المرتقبة في علاج كوفيد-19

ومنذ العام الماضي، أجرت مجموعة غوانغدونغ الجنوبية الجديدة، إلى جانب علماء من مركز أبحاث أرتيميسينين التابع لجامعة غوانغجو للطب الصيني ومعهد غوانغجو للصحة التنفسية، تجارب سريرية للأرتيميسينين – بيبيراكين في علاج كوفيد-19 في مستشفى جوانغجو الثامن الشعبي في مقاطعة هيلونغجيانج. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن نتائج اختبار الأحماض النووية لجميع حالات الملاحظة البالغ عددها 85 حالة (الذين عولجوا بالمركب) استغرقت 8.3 أيام في المتوسط لتصبح سلبية. وعند الملاحظة في اليوم الحادي والعشرين، وجد 98.8% منهم نتيجة سلبية، وفي اليوم الثامن والعشرين نسبة 100% مقارنة بـ 14.3% و 58.7% على التوالي، للمجموعة الضابطة المكونة من 63 إصابة لا تتناول دواء الأرتيميسينين-بيبيركوين. وفقًا التجارب المختبرية التي أجراها معهد قوانغتشو للصحة التنفسية، فإن أعلى تركيز غير سمي من مادة الأرتيميسينين-بيبيراكين يبلغ 125 ميكرو جرامًا لكل مليلتر، مما يساعد على منع HCoV-229E من التسبب في تأثير اعتلال خلوي في خلايا HuH-7.

Carbon free aluminium smelting a step closer: ELYSIS advances commercial demonstration and operates at industrial scale

MONTREAL, Nov. 4, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Carbon free aluminium smelting for products ranging from smart phones to cars and drink cans is a step closer with ELYSIS successfully producing aluminium without any direct greenhouse emissions at its Industrial Research and Development Center in Saguenay (QC), Canada.

The production of aluminium at the ELYSIS Industrial Research and Development Center marks the achievement of a significant milestone, using a full industrial design at a size comparable to small smelting cells operating in the industry today.

Commercial demonstration in 2023

Work is now focused on accelerating the scale-up of the ELYSISTM technology towards the demonstration of even larger commercial-size cells in 2023.

Construction of these prototype cells is now well underway at the end of an existing potline at Rio Tinto’s Alma smelter. The smelting cells will operate on an electrical current of 450 kA, which is the commercial scale for many large, modern aluminium smelters. The industrial cells are designed to be used as a ‘drop-in’ replacement to retrofit existing smelters or build new ones and can be scalable to sizes as needed.

With the current development pathway, ELYSIS aims to have its technology available for installation from 2024 and the production of larger volumes of carbon-free aluminum approximately two years later.

Scaling up supply chain in 2022

ELYSIS is beginning detailed planning to scale-up the supply chain for the technology’s upcoming commercialization. In 2022, ELYSIS will commence the design and engineering for a facility that can produce the breakthrough, proprietary materials fundamental to its inert anode, zero-carbon smelting process.

Alcoa and Rio Tinto launched the ELYSIS joint venture in 2018. The inert anode technology now being scaled-up by ELYSIS builds on a process first developed at the Alcoa Technical Center outside of Pittsburgh. The ELYSIS carbon-free smelting technology, which emits oxygen, also incorporates the latest in next-generation smelting cell design from Rio Tinto. The combination of these two innovations has led ELYSIS to develop an industrial breakthrough technology enabling sustainability and performance.

Aluminum produced during the ELYSIS research and development stage has already been used by Apple, a non-equity investor in the technology, ABInBev for Michelob Ultra cans and Audi for the wheels on its eTron GT.

Tetracore, Inc. Introduces First USDA-Licensed Real-Time PCR Test for the Detection of African Swine Fever Virus in Swine Whole Blood and Spleen Samples

ROCKVILLE, Md., Nov. 4, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Tetracore, Inc. (Tetracore) announced today the licensing of their VetAlert™ African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) DNA Diagnostic Test Kit by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Center for Veterinary Biologics (CVB). It is the first USDA licensed diagnostic product for ASFV and is manufactured in the United States, critical for a rapid response in the event of an ASF outbreak.  Additionally, this diagnostic Kit provides animal health first responders with a critical tool to mitigate the potentially catastrophic economic and animal welfare impacts of an ASFV outbreak.

Providing Advanced Molecular and Immunological Detection

The VetAlert ASFV DNA high-performance test Kit was developed by Tetracore scientists and will be commercialized and sold by Tetracore.

The updated test design was validated in studies with multiple study partners including: (1) Centro de Investigación en Sanidad Animal, Instituto Nacional De Investigaciones Agrarias (CISA-INIA, Spain); (2) The National Veterinary Institute (SVA, Sweden); (3) Sciensano (Belgium); and other International and US laboratories, where the test demonstrated equivalent performance compared to the reference test methods used by the study partners.
