King receives call from Italy PM

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday received a phone call from Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and discussed the latest escalation in the region.

During the call, His Majesty warned against the danger of pushing the region into new cycles of violence that undermine international peace and security.

The King renewed the call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, protecting civilians, and increasing the flow of humanitarian aid to all areas in the Strip through all possible methods.

His Majesty also warned of extremist settler violence against the Palestinians in the West Bank, and violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The King stressed the need to create a political horizon to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, commending Italy’s support for peace efforts, on the basis of the two-state solution.

HH the Amir, President of Turkiye Stress Need to Reduce Escalation, Avoid Expanding Conflict in the Region

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani discussed with HE President of the sisterly Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, in addition to the regional and international developments, especially the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

This came during the phone call made by HH the Amir on Monday with HE the President of the Republic of Turkiye.

The two sides stressed the need to reduce all forms of escalation and avoid expanding the conflict in the region, in addition to the importance of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories to reach a permanent and final solution to the Palestinian cause that achieves a lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.

UAE President appoints Omar Habtoor Al Darei as Chairman of General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat


ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has issued a federal decree appointing Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei as Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat.

Dr. Al Darei served as the Executive Director of Islamic Affairs at the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, he is also the General Director of the UAE Council for Fatwa, and member of the Board of Trustees of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities since 2020. He holds a doctorate degree in Islamic jurisprudence and contemporary issues.

UAE President, King of Bahrain discuss regional developments, humanitarian crisis in Gaza


ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed during a phone call with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, fraternal relations and ways to enhance joint cooperation in all fields to serve their mutual interests. They also deliberated on a number of issues and topics of common concern.

His Highness and His Majesty King Hamad reviewed the developments in the Middle East region, most notably the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, as well as intensifying efforts to reach a cease fire and provide full protection for civilians, in addition to ensuring the delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza in a sustainable and unhindered manner.

The two sides stressed the vital need to prevent the conflict expanding further in the region and the importance of pursuing a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution to ensure stability and security for all.

Palestinian Killed, Three Injured By Israeli Forces in Nablus

Ramallah: A Palestinian was killed and 3 others were injured on Monday morning by live bullets during clashes with Israeli occupation forces in the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

Palestine Red Crescent Society’s spokesman Ahmed Jibril said that a civilian was seriously wounded by occupation bullets in the chest and soon lost his life, and another was shot in the foot and transferred to the hospital in the city.

He explained that Israeli special units infiltrated the Al-Marij neighborhood in Nablus and raided a building as occupation forces sent military reinforcements to the place under the pretext of searching for wanted Palestinians.

Ministry, Business Development Center Join Forces for Local Economic Empowerment

Amman: The Ministry of Social Development and the Business Development Center inked a collaboration deal on Monday to empower qualified charitable organizations in distant southern regions. The aim is to initiate local production initiatives fostering employment opportunities for young women and men.

Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa underscored the enduring partnership with the center, highlighting its endeavors in training and facilitating self-employment ventures across the Kingdom. She cited the Oasis Project for Women’s Empowerment, designed to reach vulnerable women in targeted zones, as a prime example.

This partnership will ensure the sustained operation of projects funded by the Ministry’s Productive Families Program. Training provided by the Center will enhance beneficiaries’ skills, with local community development centers in the south serving as venues for program execution.

Bani Mustafa elucidated that the center’s classification system would aid in selecting associations based on predefined criteria
, ensuring governance adherence and streamlining access procedures.

Nayef Esteteh, the founder of the Business Development Center, hailed the agreement’s significance, emphasizing youth empowerment as pivotal for Jordan’s sustainable development.

Bani Mustafa acquainted herself with the Center’s diverse programs, engaging with beneficiaries to glean insights into their success stories and the center’s impact. This accord seeks to forge strategic partnerships to implement lasting local economic projects, extending financial and technical aid to project owners while organizing skill-enhancing training programs. Continuous collaboration with charities and local directorates aims to ensure project continuity and deliver long-term socioeconomic benefits to target communities.
