The Women’s Committee at Dubai Customs celebrated the Emirati Women’s Day, which falls on August 28 each year, under the slogan “An inspiring reality… a sustainable future.”
The celebration is an annual tradition that Dubai Customs celebrates in support of the role of women in society, while emphasizing their unlimited achievements in all fields. The Government Department provides an equal work environment for its female employees, and empower them to work efficiently and with passion.
The event saw a number of activities including forming a mural bearing the slogan of the Emirati Women’s Day and a display of clothes and perfumes. On the sidelines of the event, Dr Nazim Al-Rifaai from Gargash Hospital presented a lecture on the health effects of overweight and obesity, and at the end of the event, raffles were held for valuable gifts presented by the companies participating in the exhibition.
Customs centers at Dubai Customs celebrated the occasion through a variety of events, in appreciation to female employees and their prominent role in enhancing the position of the Department at all levels.
Commenting on the event, Mariam Khalifa Al-Shamsi, Head of the Women’s Committee at Dubai Customs said:
“Women in the UAE have progressed significantly in all fields, and this breakthrough was achieved only with the support of the wise leadership, which empowered women and provided them with all the requirements for success. Thanks to this continual support, women in the UAE have been able to excel and assume leading positions in which they have proven their ability to overcome challenges and become reliable and strong participants in achieving sustainable development realizing the dream of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace.
“Women in the UAE are living a golden age thanks to the unlimited support they receive, especially from Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. Female employees at Dubai Customs receive unlimited support from the higher management and this led to providing an ideal work environment for women and helped them succeed and excel.”
