Dubai Health Authority congratulates Dubai Government Excellence Program for completing silver jubilee

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, September 9 ,2022: His Excellency Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) highlighted that the Dubai Government Excellence Program, which was launched 25 years ago, has significantly contributed to enhance excellence, innovation and quality across all governmental organisations in the Emirate of Dubai.

He highlighted the program has played an active role in promoting a culture of quality and excellence, and creating a competitive environment that stimulates creativity and innovation across government entities.

On the 25th anniversary of the program, Al Ketbi said: “The program reflects the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to ensure Dubai is a city of excellence and an inspiring global model of leadership and government excellence.”

He highlighted that thanks to the guidance, support and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the program has been successful.

Al Ketbi pointed out that the standards set by the program contributed to achieving the highest level of happiness, positivity and quality of life, and that at the DHA customer happiness reached 88% in 2021, which is an increase of 35% compared to 2004.

Organisational Resilience

Al Ketbi said the program also contributed to the development of policies and plans necessary to achieve the objectives of individuals and the Authority jointly, it facilitated in investing in human capital, raising efficiency and productivity, and creating a happy, positive and innovative work environment which contributed to raising the rate of employee happiness to 82%.

Al Ketbi highlighted the positive impact of Dubai’s adoption of the government excellence system, and its role in making significant progress in enhanced efficiency of knowledge transfer, capacity building and developing working relationships with partners, which increased institutional flexibility and adaptability.

The Authority was agile and resilient and was able to effectively continue service provision and expansion of service provision as well as effectively manage and tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, where the percentage of community satisfaction with the measures of the Government of Dubai in dealing with the crisis reached 88 percent.

Leadership and Culture of Excellence

Al Ketbi pointed out that the Dubai Government Excellence Program has worked since its establishment to consolidate the culture of excellence and creativity in the government work system, and to lay the foundations for job excellence, which contributed to increasing the rate of improvement of the performance of the Dubai Health Authority by 44% according to the performance report issued by the Executive Council in 2021.

The adoption of the culture of excellence by the Dubai Health Authority also led to enhancing competitiveness of the emirate, and its readiness to deal with various variables with flexibility to ensure the continuity of business and the provision of services.

Al Ketbi highlighted that this was clearly reflected in the leadership of the health sector in the United Arab Emirates across many global competitive indicators. The Emirate of Dubai has also assumed a leading role in the field of health tourism according to various international reports.

He extended his congratulations on his behalf and on behalf of all employees of the DHA to the Dubai Government Excellence Program, for setting high standards and global benchmarks for government excellence and for continuing to pursue new opportunities to implement high standards of efficiency, innovation and performance across governmental institutions.
