Saudi Crown Prince, Somali Pres. meet on bilateral issues


JEDDAH, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, of Saudi Arabia, welcomed visiting President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, of Somalia, to Al-Safa Palace in Makkah on Saturday.

During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral ties and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in various domains, according to the Saudi Press Agency

Palestine calls on EU to prevent, punish Israeli crimes of genocide


BRUSSELS, Palestinian Deputy Head of Mission to the European Union, Adel Atieh called on the bloc to “take all necessary measures to prevent and to punish the crime of genocide that Israel is committing against the Palestinian people,” Atieh said this on sidelines of European Parliament event on “the legal consequences of the provisional measure of the International Justice Court”, in Brussels with international law experts and EU members.

The purpose of this meeting, explained Atieh, is to remind EU member states that they have obligation under the Genocide Convention to take concrete measures to stop and to punish the crime of genocide.

He urged the EU to stop dealing in double standards and impose sanctions against Israeli occupations, calling it the “moral and political” duty of the Union.

Egyptian Pres. warns of catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza


CAIRO, Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi warned of the seriousness of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, which necessitates concerted international efforts immediately to press for the immediate implementation of relief aid to all areas of the Strip.

This came during Al-Sisi’s meeting with the head of the CIA, William Burns, in the presence of the head of Egyptian General Intelligence, Major General Abbas Kamel, said the official spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, Counselor Ahmad Fahmy in a statement on Sunday.

The meeting discussed the joint Egyptian, Qatari and American efforts to establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and developments in the field.

He stated that the meeting witnessed agreement on the need to protect civilians and the danger of military escalation in the Palestinian city of Rafah, as well as a complete rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their lands.

Kuwait’s FM receives letter from Tajikistan counterpart


KUWAIT, Kuwait Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya received a letter from Tajikistan counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

The letter touched on bilateral ties between the two friendly countries and ways of boosting cooperation in various fields.

Tajikistan Ambassador to Kuwait Dr. Zubaidallah Zabidov handed the letter to Minister Al-Yahya.

Kuwait, Jordanian FMs discuss situation in Palestinian territories


KUWAIT, Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya discussed, via phone Sunday, with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Al-Safadi the tragic situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and increasing coordination and consultation on dealing with the dangerous escalation in the Gaza Strip.

In a press statement, the Foreign Ministry that both sides underlined the need to support international efforts seeking to accelerate humanitarian and relief aid delivery to the Palestinian people.

They urged international community to assume its responsibilities and intensify its efforts to help achieve a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause.

Minister Al-Yahya appreciated Jordan’s effective role in maintaining regional security and stability and enhancing joint Arab action.

He affirmed the State of Kuwait’s backing to the Hashemite Kingdom’s efforts for stopping the war on Gaza and limiting its repercussions.

He also voiced Kuwait’s full
support for the international efforts for finding the most effective ways to end this dangerous deterioration that threatens the security of the region.

FM reiterates Kuwait’s solid backing to Palestinian people


KUWAIT, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya reiterated Sunday Kuwait’s principled and firm support to the Palestinian people in their struggle to obtain their legitimate rights and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

This came in a phone call with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine Dr. Muhammad Mustafa, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry.

During the call, Minister Al-Yahya said he looks forward to working with the Palestinian counterpart for strengthening and consolidating bilateral relations in various fields and at all levels.

He expressed full support to international efforts aiming to resolve the Palestinian cause and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people.

He congratulated Dr. Mustafa on assuming his position as the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine, wishing good luck and success in his mission.

For his part, Prime Minister Mustafa conveyed the gree
tings of his country’s leadership and people to the State of Kuwait and its wise leadership and people.

He voiced gratitude and appreciation to the State of Kuwait for defending the Palestinian cause at international fora and providing humanitarian and relief aid to the war-traumatized Palestinian people.

The Ministry statement pointed out that both sides reviewed and exchanged views about the latest developments of common concern in the occupied Palestinian territories, the region and the world.
