RAKEZ, CBD sign MoU to offer products and services to RAKEZ clients

RAS AL KHAIMAH, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has entered into a strategic alliance with Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) to provide RAKEZ clients with quick and convenient access to the bank’s products and services.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Ramy Jallad, Group CEO of RAKEZ, and Dr. Bernd van Linder, Chief Executive Officer of CBD.

UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs meets IFC’s Managing Director

DUBAI, Mohamed Bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, today met with Makhtar Diop, Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of Expo 2020 Dubai, sought to discuss IFC’s activities in the UAE and the region.

Dr. Merza Hasan, Executive Director and Dean of the Board of Executive Directors at World Bank Group; Hela Cheikhrouhou, Regional Vice President, Middle East, Central Asia, Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan; as well as Sufyan Abed Alhameed Al Issa, IFC’s MENA Regional Head of Operations, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Al Hussaini welcomed Makhtar Diop and his accompanying delegation, and praised the role of this meeting in strengthening the work process and cooperation between both parties.

The meeting deliberated IFC’s strategy in the MENA region, its programmes in the UAE and GCC, as well as the corporation’s work with private companies in the country to support their investments abroad. It also reviewed the regional cross-border investments that allow companies in the UAE to expand into emerging markets in Africa and Asia.

IFC is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets and developing economies. The UAE joined the IFC on 30th September 1977.

First Group Team completes 7 Emirates Cycle Challenge to raise awareness for Rashid Centre for People of Determination

DUBAI, The First Group 7 Emirates Cycle Challenge team, with the participation of Sheikha Madia bint Hasher bin Mani Al Maktoum, completed the 550 kilometres journey.

Twenty-four cyclists participated in the challenge and travelled through each of the seven Emirates over four days, to support and raise awareness for the Rashid Centre for People of Determination.

“The First Group 7 Emirates Cycle Challenge’s inaugural four-day event marked what we hope to be a long-lasting tradition. We are honoured to have Sheikha Madia bint Hasher bin Mani Al Maktoum join the challenge with elite former professional cyclists and many of Dubai’s business and community leaders,” said Rob Burns, CEO and Partner, The First Group.

The 7 Emirates Cycle Challenge is conceptualised to enrich young lives through sustained educational support programmes. Since 1994, The Rashid Centre has been recognised for its approach to special needs education and is currently merging therapy and education to teach children life skills while helping them gain academic qualifications.
