Second Batch of Learners Join Dubai Police and AUD’s Resilience Diploma

The Dubai Police’s Resilience Centre, in cooperation with the American University in Dubai (AUD), recently welcomed the second batch of learners to the highly sought-after ‘Resilience Diploma’ programme.

The Resilience Diploma programme is designed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to help them tackle the challenges of resilience in the public and private sectors. The programme is also aimed at equipping participants with the tools needed for strategic planning and risk analysis, ensuring that they are equipped with the skills necessary to keep businesses running smoothly, even in the event of a crisis.

The second batch of the ‘Resilience Diploma’ programme includes 11 participants from different local government departments at the emirate level, following the tremendous success of the first batch, which included 18 local participants from eight government departments.

Expert Brigadier Ahmed Bu Rugaiba, Director of the Resilience Centre, confirmed that the launch of the diploma comes per the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, especially since Dubai had won the “Model City Award in the Field of Flexibility, Intelligence, and Sustainability,” by the United Nations Office for Risk and Disaster Reduction. He added that the award is presented to the world’s best cities that apply efficient measures to enhance resilience and reduce risks.

Brig. Bourguiba pointed out that the ‘Resilience Diploma’ was launched by Dubai Police in support of the efforts of the Dubai government’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of the resilience system and reduce risks at the emirate level. “The ‘Resilience Diploma’ targets all workers in the various sectors of resilience and risk reduction in governmental and non-governmental institutions, private sector, and civil society organizations, as well as employees and students who desire to enhance their capabilities and develop their skills,” he added.

Dr. Schmidt, president of the American University in Dubai, said: “AUD is committed to continuing to play a pivotal role in supporting organizational resilience in Dubai and the region, where risks and changes are becoming constant in this day-and-age. Our collaboration with the Center of Resilience in Dubai Police to seed a resilient mindset in the public and private sector is a prominent milestone in our ongoing endeavor to serve the community”.
