Minister of Justice meets the envoy of the UN Secretary-General, to discuss the conditions of elections.

The Minister of Justice of the Government of National Unity, “Halima Ibrahim Abdel Rahman,” received today, Thursday, in her office, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative in Libya, “Abdullah Batili.”

The Ministry website on the social network stated that (the Minister welcomed the UN representative, appreciating the efforts of the mission in promoting and supporting stability in Libya, stressing that the Ministry of Justice attaches great importance to the file of human rights, national reconciliation, reform and rehabilitation institutions, and the affiliated bodies and the steps taken by the Ministry in the framework of the powers entrusted to it to help create the appropriate conditions for access to elections).

For his part, Batelli, stressed the efforts made by the United Nations Mission to support the electoral process in Libya within consultations and meetings with various local and international bodies, and the importance of paths that enhance stability to build the modern state of Libya, pointing out that there are many areas for joint work between the mission and the ministry, on top of which are human rights and activating the path of restorative justice and national reconciliation.

The head of the Women’s Affairs Committee discusses with the “Women and Peace” team the mechanisms that achieve peace and community security in Libya.

The head of the Committee on Women and Children’s Affairs in the House of Representatives, “Intisar Shanib,” held a meeting at the council’s headquarters in Benghazi with the “Women and Peace” team, which includes a number of faculty members, political activists, and an elite from civil society.

The official spokesman for the Libyan House of Representatives, “Abdullah Blehaq,” stated that the meeting discussed the peace initiative adopted by women in Libya in various regions, in addition to discussing the mechanisms that achieve peace and community security in Libya.

Head of Presidential Council meets with the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

The President of the Presidential Council, “Mohamed Al-Mnifi”, received today, Thursday, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, UNSMIL, “Abdullah Bathili”.

According to the media office of the council, “Bateli” provided the president with a briefing on his meetings with the active Libyan parties on the priorities of the stage.

During the meeting, developments in the work of the joint committee (6 + 6) were discussed to prepare and complete electoral laws leading to the achievement of a free, transparent and inclusive electoral entitlement for all during the year 2023.

King, Queen host wedding reception of Crown Prince, Princess Rajwa

Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al Abdullah II Thursday hosted a wedding reception at Al Husseiniya Palace of HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and HRH Princess Rajwa Al Hussein. The ceremony was attended by members of the royal family and members of the al-Saif family, Jordanian guests, invitees and senior officials. Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein arrived at Al Hussainiya Palace, surrounded by the red procession that accompanied them through Amman after their marriage ceremony at Zahran Palace. At the entrance to the Palace, guards lined up to greet and welcome their Highnesses.
